ric34
Bonjour Mesdames, Messieurs.
fortyearspickn
Never took French in school - but sort of got the gist of your post. If you purchased a Real Gibson Hummingbird New from an Authorized Dealer, it would have been required to have a genuine, signature, iconic, engraved pick guard. If it did not - demand your money back, or threaten to contact Gibson directly. If not - you were ripped off. If you bought a used one, or a knock-off - then all you can do is hope you can get your money back because you should have realized - Caveat Emptor ! If you want to buy a replacement - look on EBay. Gibson might sell you one, but it would be outrageously priced. I just realized - you probably do not understand what I wrote anymore than I understood what you did. G'Luck. DanvillRob
Translated: Hello ladies and gentlemen. I apologize, I speak English very badly, understand it a little but speak it only very very badly. 😞 I have a Hummingbird for 6 or 7 years and I have a pickguard problem that keeps coming off (for the seller at the time it was normal, it's Gibson ??? Good ???) It's really frustrating for a guitar of this quality (and at this price) and I don't know what to do. I contacted 4 or 5 luthiers in my area who all flatly refused to touch it on the pretext that Gibson I do not touch it ..... Reason: Mystery???? Anyone had this problem? And how did you solve it? I despair because she is constantly in her box at the Salon and hardly ever plays it because it is really destabilizing and annoying. Thanks and sorry for the language 😟. Eric... DanvillRob
Bonne chance Bob
ric34

Bonne chance. Sgt. Pepper
I used Google translate so I hope what I wrote translated correctly.

But using the correct glue would be important....then "GENTLY" clamping it down. Maybe some can provide which glue should be used.

Not sure if that is what they use to glue a piece of plastic to wood.
ric34
G just for information, it's the original Gibson pickguard. It is very "thick" and flexible. thick : je ne suis pas sûr de la traduction épais en Français.
kidblast
I think these are all attached w/3m double sided tape sheets. available from places like stewart mcdonald please do not use glue. (sorry, I'm not translating this to French.) 1
the other side
Kidblast is correct. Don Ruffato sent me a factory pickguard because mine developed bubbles in it, the peel of backing on the pickguard had no brand, just white. The 3m to use is commonly known is 3M 200 MP it is also the exact same to 3M 467MP. This is a pickguard i bought for a different guitar.
the other side
Hope this helps. You're still gonna have to remove the existing pickguard with a dull nylon object very slowly a little at a time. I used NO heat on mine. I don't know of any other brand of double sided adheasive sheets I would be confident using. Maybe someone here or there can translate this for you. Hope this helps.
