Jerry K
Not my fav player but I think this is very good acoustic playing: John Scofield In a completely different vein: Robin Williamson
Jayla
Lately I've been listening to Elizabeth Cotten and learning some of her songs. This is a clip from Pete Seeger's "Rainbow Quest" of her doing two numbers: "Walking down the road feeling bad" and "Momma your poppa loves you." Check 'em out. ballcorner
Check out this guy who calls himself "fretkiller"! He's pretty damn good! I know who you mean - never shows his face, does the coolest version of King of the Road I have ever heard - can play anything upside down and backwards. I believe he is someone very well known who chooses to use YouTube as a place to play music his professional career doesn't allow him to perform. A frustrated cowboy? Fearful folkie? Something like that. Wonderful player, for sure.
ballcorner
Favorite? I dunno. But he's pretty damn good! Cool and original - too bad about those old pickups, but a great playing job.

Rambler
Paul Geremia and his J35 gets my vote (living guitarists division). He's also killer on a 12 string as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhaSl4mY_zE (more at http://www.paulgeremia.org)
