pandal
Hi! Recently became the owner of a faded 50's J45 which I'm loving so far. Plays and sounds great but I've noticed a line between the top and the binding which looks like it may be a crack. Not too sure if it's a crack and I should be returning it to the store or just the wood grain. Anyone had any similar experiences with a new Gibson acoustic? Gibson29
Looks like it. I’d have a repair done if I really liked it, not an exchange. Repaired can be nearly invisible. And it should be no cost to you. Depending on where you bought it, might want to run this thru Gibson customer service first for repair options. kidblast
well that doesn't look like "grain" if that answers your question?!?

You're right, definitely doesn't look like grain in the wod. Looks like a gap between the binding and the top.
Eracer_Team
The amazing thing about acoustics is, if they’re not too dried out. you can rehydrate them and any wood gaps close you can’t do that with a solid body electric Edited April 11, 2023 by Eracer_Team
