Sgt. Pepper
A few weeks ago, my cousin sent me an album by these guys and then a couple days later he sent me another one. I bought a few, and they are a bizarre band from Australia. No two albums even remotely sound the same. They do a bunch of limited edition vinyl on crazy and cool colors. They are playing only a few hours for me, but you can’t get tickets. Well you can but they are all resells for three times the price. Edited March 18 by Sgt. Dub-T-123
I’ve been a fan for a while. I remember we had chatted a few years ago about your son being a fan too I saw them at Red Rocks in Colorado and it was such an awesome show. Saw them before in LA once also. At the Red Rocks show I kinda underestimated the altitude and my wife and I got absolutely hammered
'Scales
Something for everyone - often in the same song! Talented, interesting and prolific. If rock mattered in the world anymore these guys would be doing very nicely I reckon.

I’m at work with a younger guy right now and I let him take over the radio (streaming from Apple Music or something. I’m loving the newer stuff he’s playing. Makes me feel good that it’s not all lost
'Scales
Yeah, definitely - I enjoy when my son (21 yo) shows me stuff his friends are either playing in their bands or listening to. Some of the stuff I loved in the 90's is influencing the musical youth at least, even if you'd think from the media the only band is Taylor Pink or whatever that is. Sgt. Pepper
They do vinyl with locked grooves and do marathon 3 hour concerts. So far Nonagon Infinity, Fishing For Fishes, Flying Microtonal Banana and Pento Dragononic Apocalypse are my favorites. My wife digs them too. I remember going to Reno once and it was a pain in the a-ss breathing till you get used to it. Edited March 19 by Sgt. Pepper

I'm not talking about the shape of the body, or the weirdly "hockey stick" looking head stock, (and defiantly not like the Gibson Explorer "hockey stick" head stock, btw. This guys headstock looks like the "before" picture from a Viagra commercial.) , I'm talking about the fret spacing. Can someone please explain to me what this fret positioning is all about??? I have never seen anything like this. At first I thought the "frets" were some kind of stickers used to create a visual illusion, with the real frets blacked out. (The video quality is pretty bad, so I can really tell.) Is this a gag, or a real thing? Maybe 'Scales can let us know if this is an Aussie thing? (is this fret spacing based on some type of Aboriginal instrument? Did a member of the Pitjantjara create this??) Check out the vid for "Rattle snake" below, where this guitar is featured prominently. The other guitarist has the same type of fret spacing too. (PS - Rattle snakes are not native to Australia) Edited March 21 by Sheepdog1969

(PS - Rattle snakes are not native to Australia) It’s a microtonal guitar. He had additional frets put on to get notes that are in between notes we normally play. On our guitars when tuned to concert pitch there’s no note between B and C, and E and F right. But he’s got frets there so he can get a little sharper than an E but it’s also not an F. It’s a microtone. Go to the link and read the section that says music. It talks about it. There is also a YT video of a Gizzard super fan talking about microtones and his guitar. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Microtonal_Banana Edited March 21 by Sgt.
