Corrosion of conformity
I think it sounds like a pretty good deal, since it's used and was made in 2003 I would try to get the price down a little bit though, maybe around $450-$
BlackHawk233
Yeah, I'm kinda GAS'ING for a strat right now, but this one at least by the pics, looks very nice.

The Fool on The Hill
I would save up for a 70's vintage Stratocaster, I am seriously gassing for one at the moment but i have made my mind up of either getting an SG or Les Paul.

tazzboy
Yeah good deal on the Hwy 1.
Riffster
Those are nice guitars but the pickups sound is on the thinner side, good for blues.
BlackHawk233
Since I already have a Les Paul that does the Rock/metal genre fine, I wanted a Strat to kind of mellow out and play some more of my clean style.
ChanMan
Brand New only $699 Edit*** HSS if you prefer, same price Just a reference
RichCI
Looks like a good deal to me. As ChanMan noted, new ones can be found for around $700 and used ones on Ebay range from $550-650. You might be able to get him down a little bit, but I wouldn't count on it being by much.
Californiaman
Or you can buy mine for $750.00. It's an American Made '83 in Sienna Burst. Check the Trading Post for some pictures. It's a great player.
tazzboy
Those are nice guitars but the pickups sound is on the thinner side' date=' good for blues.[/quote'] That's because the pickups are Alnico 3 Magnets and that Fender uses Grease bucket circuity. http://www.fender.com/products/view_specs.php?full_partno=0111160&name=Highway+One%26trade%3B+Stratocaster%26reg%3B
Riffster
The grease bucket circuit thing is fairly new on Highway 1 guitars I think. Before 2005 they did not have it. I am no expert I almost bought a 2004 Highway 1 but ended up with another Stratocaster.
