DAS44
I loved the sound of a les paul ever since I was able to appreciate tone. I loved the look. I loved the feel of a nice 50s neck. I found one on criagslist. needless to say, I am hooked.

rocketman
I always wanted a Les Paul when I heard Lifeson play one on "All The World's A Stage." Murph is responsible for my 339. I never heard anyone rave about a guitar like Murph did his 339. So I had to check it out and he was right! So I put Murph and Lifeson in the same category...he he he. solacematt
I started on one of my grandfathers Les Paul's. Stupid move was, I traded it to Sam Ash for a Gibson Flying V. I know, that sounds increadably stupid; let me explain. When I was a little kid, I'm talking like '89, '90 or so, Faith No More was my favorite band. The image of that pumpkin growing weirdo Ji Martin playing a flying V stuck in my head for years as what a guitar player should play. So when I got better, I traded that LP in for the V. Dumb move, yea, I know. But, at least I still have that V, and it's been through hell. Still a great guitar though.
DeVeeWee
My dog picked mine out. She nose guitars. Dennis, your dog's nose is IMHO a bit 'atypical' to all other dog noses...when taking his 'biotope' into account:-"
