Ever about to put your finger down on the fret and it goes down really fast and hard for no reason?

Should i be worried? [biggrin]

Not unduly but you should see a doctor.

It's probably nothing. Best to find out and know than to remain in ignorance worrying about it.

(4,000 posts? It's probably the result of too much typing.....)

Should i be worried? [cool]

On my ringer finger sometimes when im playing it just slams on the frets when i go to push down on a string and it sorta locks.

When you say locks' date=' do you mean, like the index finger in the picture below?

if yes? then that means you are double jointed. I am too, it usually doesn't affect my guitar playing except sometimes when I have to use my pinky .

sounds like (trigger finger) to me, google it...ive got it too, on the second and third fingers of my left hand (from playing guitar) and on the first and second fingers on my right hand (i'm a repro spray polisher and use a spray gun all day), it only lasts about 2 days every 3 months or so and basicly its a build up of crap on the tendons in the palm of your hands and in severe cases the docs have to cut into your palm and "scrape" the stuff away, my cousin had the op and made a full recovery within 3 weeks...
