jchabalk
I just found this tonight, figured someone might be interested in it. There's a contest going on over at stevewinwood.com. They're looking for the best cover of "Can't Find My Way Home." There are some prizes and all that... Here's the URL for the contest: http://www.stevewinwood.com/contests/749 Here's Steve doing it to set the scene: Have at it!
fretplay
Steve's just a great singer but what guiar is that? Looks like a Martin.
Buc McMaster
Out-freaking-standing! Winwood is very, very talented and this particular tune has stood the test of time. Excellent! (ps.....the guitar is a Martin 000-42. It could be the Eric Clapton version, but it's the 42.)
Guth
Perhaps my favorite version of this tune was done by Rob Ickes with Tim O'Brien. It can be found on Rob's album "Slide City". All the best, Guth

[/quote'] Buc, Look real close at the signature on the lower fretboard.....kinda looks like Winwood rather than Clapton. Perhaps Martin has a new signature model lined up for later on. By the way, I got to see Clapton and Winwood last year in Dallas. Simply amazing!
zombywoof
Now if Steve was looking for the best cover version of "Gimme Some Lovin'" that would be something I could sink my teeth into.

Simply amazing![/quote'] Could be......that last letter does look tall. But it is a 000-42, which is what the Clapton model is. If Steve does have a new sig Martin coming why would he use the same model? Maybe it's just a 000-42 that Steve had made with his sig on the fretboard for his own use. Anyhoo........it's a nice guitar that he can definitely play!
