NeoConMan Posted April 9, 2010 Share Posted April 9, 2010 I always kinda had the feeling that his "huge" contributions to music - like many others - was felt much less outside of the UK, NYC and California. Many of those big/hot/new/legendary bands never lived up to their billing. As a Mid-westerner/Texan I always regarded much of the music biz hype with a grain of salt. I'd hear the songs, and I just didn't get it - no matter how hard I tried. Of course that's a two-way street. I'm well aware of the pity/contempt the "hipsters" felt toward the unfortunate people like me in flyover country. Waylon Jennings said it best.
