Lerxst1281733995
That bolt-on? I wouldn't buy it, just on principle... It used to be a $99 guitar... Now they're selling blems for $149, because they're one of the last few with a P-90?? I call that price gouging..
Lerxst1281733995
I just checked the MF site, and that's not even the P-90 bolt-on Junior! What the?
jcwillow777
GC has some/a Blem Black Dot - $279.99. I'm tempted, but I think I'm gonna wait and get a '66 G-400 when they are back in stock.
TheX
That bolt-on? I wouldn't buy it' date=' just on principle... [/quote'] Bolt on necks seem to work pretty well with Strats and Tele's. I don't see a problem with a bolt on necks, especially just on principle.

The prinicple he was talking about is that MF used to sell them new for $99, now the blems are $149.

flyingfrets
A lot of the bolt on Juniors & Specials are plywood too. I have one & I'd never buy another. I need my tech to reset the neck every 6 - 9 months because it doesn't just bow, it twists. They were about right at $99. A blem for $149? No F-ing way... PJ
I've often been tempted to grab one of these bolt-on Juniors, but I see so much variability from unit-to-unit in the stores, that I don't think I'd by one through a web-house. GC has a bunch of them for $99. P-90s and hummers. Some play fine, others seem off. I think I'd have to play one before buying it. But, with a good pickup change-out, maybe some nice vintage tuners, you'd have a real nice box for about $200 when done.

Lerxst1281733995
Yeah, I don't have anything against bolt-ons.. I own, and have owned several... But I bought one of those bolt-on Juniors on ebay for $75 a while back and figured I'd mod the heck out of it... Man, what a piece of junk! (No offense to others who got a good one...) I'm still gonna mod the heck out of it... Rebuild it is more like it.. The only original part that's gonna be left is the body.. And I'm gonna chamber that! PJ
I like the set-neck Junior that doesn;t have a black plastic nut and has Grover tuners. Once in a (very) rare while, you'll come across one, but they;re tough to find.
thunderstruck507
Never touched a junior that wasn't a pile of scrap worth $50 or less, $150 for a blem? Screw that
