vincolo1
I am toying with a ZW that has a broken neck. Its a wash because the crack goes through the fret board, so a new neck is in order. The body looks in good shape, Serial checks out. What should I offer for the guitar? Asking price is $300 OBO.

AS90
It not worth it, I would imagine a new neck fitted, finished and set up will cost around $400, it would cost around £300 here in the UK.
layboomo
Run the other way! You can put a set of EMG's in any guitar and get the Zakk Wylde tone if thats your thing.

These are glued necks and to remove the old one and retrofit a new neck (assuming you can even find a matching neck/headstock..your are looking VERY COSTLY REPAIR! forget it! There are lots of these types of EPi LPs around. heres a link to a guy up here that unloaded a working one with EMG p_ups for $300 cdn..it's SOLD but you get some idea of what these things are worth used in working order, even without the boutique p_ups. http://www.usedottawa.com/classified-ad/6291670
ef_in_fla
Your crazy to touch a LP with a broken neck like that. +1 on that. Maybe if it was $50 it might be worth the hassle, but probably not even then.

He send more pics and the killer break is a crack right where the neck meets the body and the finish is raised where it broke. If he goes for the $50 I'll have one to hang on the wall... thanks everyone for your suggestions and help
