Hi people:

I am always very concerned with aesthetics in my guitars...

I dont like the Sheraton headstock, or the one for Les Pauls ,and SGs, etc. To me the Rivier and Casinos headstock is the one...

Sorry I may come across as a d*ck, but that is my taste.

Anyways, is it an optical illusion but to me the "horns" on a dot seem fatter than on a Riviera...

Why? That is the simple and shallow reason I dont have a Dot.

Is it because of factories?

Please inform this shallow epiphonite.

The 335 in its history went through a fat-horn/thin-horn transition. They call the fat horns "Mickey Mouse ears".

Anyway, you never have to apologize for your taste. This only thing that would make you a d*ck is if you attacked someone else for their taste. Cheers.

One thing...the Korean Sheraton, has a bigger, less curved (inside edge) than the "Elitist" Sheraton, which are

small, and more inside curve, true to the originals Kalamazoo versions. I prefer that Kalamazoo/Elitist style, myself...as well as the Kalamazoo version's headstock, or even the "Elitist!" It's not a "deal breaker" or anything, just a personal preference. We've noticed, that since the semi's have been made in China, the specs of the upper bout horns have changed slightly...to a more curved, vintage (Gibson) like outline. That's a good thing, IMHO. Now, if they

can only get to "Elitist" (or near) quality? That would be great!! The Riviera P-93LE has the newer upper bout

configuration, if you need a visual reference.

I never thought much about the "horns", but thanks a lot for bringing it to my attention! Now I have to go look at my Dot...

I like the smaller headstock better, at least on the LPs, SGs, etc. I wish my Dot had one like that. The Casino headstock, however, looks as it should. Maybe because I'm used to seeing it that way?
