bromance
Hey all Casino lovers! Let us know which is your fav OD to go with the Casino and why! I'll start with the Danelectro Cool Cat TOD! its a cheap and transparent OD and I absolutely love it! whats yours?
charlie brown
Boss 'Blues Driver"...if, on the rare occasion I DO use an overdrive, with it. Mostly, it's pure Casino tone, through a good Tube amp, without any other "effects" (save maybe a little Reverb). If you want a bit of heaven, try a Casino, through a Fender Deluxe Reverb, at the "sweet spot!" Amazing.... Vox AC-15 or 30's are nice, with them, too. bromance
i'm running it thru an AC4! sweet with the Dano, but sometimes I wish I can get more from it.. I play hendrix, cream, BB King and some indie like the strokes - but the dano cant go more than the blues crunch - im looking to see if anyone uses a good OD that can give me the mentioned artists' sound.. ;)
rafaelh
An old TS9 is what mainly stays on my board and use most regardless of guitar....but yes, my Casino likes it.
timandbob
I am running my Dot through a Roland 20x amp, and then out to our PA. Sounds really nice. I have the footswitch so I can play clean tones for the rhythm, and then switch for solos. On my "dirty" tones, I mostly go with the distortion and the overdrive channels, with a bit a reverb. BENT E
I've got the Dano, plus a BOSS DS-1 which on the lower setting's isn't bad. The best that works for me, is the gain in my AD30VT VOX on the AC30,15 models. I can get that " Dig A Pony " type growl that is so COOL IMO. Otherwise, I stay pretty clean with the Casino, one of my favorite guitars. As noted before, a dash of reverb to open it up a bit, that's all - Heaven!!! bromance
My AC4 has no reverb function so I guess I'll have to get a reverb pedal! I'm still deciding which new OD to get! I like warmth of the 808 but its a little bit too much on the wallet at the moment!
Greg M
I play my Casino through an Ibanez TS9, Xotic AC Booster, or Marshall Guv'nor GV-2 Plus depending on what the song calls for. Just don't get too close to your amp if you are using very high gain. Greg
Guest icantbuyafender
i played one through a daddy O overdrive by danelectro. Let me tell you, that daddy O through a fender blues junior (tweed/oxblood) and a casino blew my mind! the daddy O has some real growl and a slightly rough purr even on low gain settings. Its personal 3 band EQ really helps dial in tones. The casino was a standard cherry and she almost went home with me lol in time, in time. but i do recommend the Daddy O overdrive. with 5 knobs you can really tweak vintage and rock tones. Add a casino and you are set!
bromance
I have a MXR micro amp, so my set up is pretty much like Nick Valensi less his guitar! perhaps I should get a visual sound? Speaking of which, Somehow the new VS pedal - Open Road Overdrive sounds a little nasal to me - the route 808 has that warmth which I find desirable.. TS clone perhaps? Coffee Traveller
I run my casino through an orange crush amplifier then through a korg toneworks pedal it gets a real bluesy bite too :-
Goldie
I don't own a Casino, but the only OD(actually, clean boost) I use is a Hermida ZenDrive.
skinzbaby
I also use the Zendrive, an amazing sound with any guitar.
