Inspired by John Lennon Revolution Casino arrived at my local store

I saw one of these at Gand Music in suburban Chicago this afternoon ... I only had a few minutes to look at it and to play a few chords unplugged. Fit and finish looked quite good ... it's matte, not glossy, so it's a little hard to compare to my natural Elitist Casino. I liked its appearance, feel and unplugged sound. If I didn't have the Elitist, I'd be tempted by this one.

So I sent a note to Sweetwater asking for them to post pics of the case, and got this response within minutes:

"If this is something are looking to purchase soon, I should be able to get my marketing department to get a picture of the case for you."

Guess I can only have a picture if I'm willing to buy soon....what the crap

Never thought I'd say I prefer natural over sunburst' date=' but that weird-@$$ sunburst just ain't doin' it for me.

Also like the gold Grovers on the nat.. Is it just me or do these models have no grain?[/quote']

That one does look very plain... maybe it's a bad example.

The burst seems to dark... it shouldn't go all the way to black, if it's supposed to be Epiphone's "Shaded" of the 60s. I don't think John's had a burst neck, either.

When are they going to introduce the third version of John's Casino - the "Pepper:"

Hey guys quick question,

For the Natural or Revolution casino's.. isn't there supposed to be a screw head visible on these areas of the guitar since the pickguard has been removed?

Or do you have to drill the holes by yourself when you get a regular natural casino or the inspired version? I forgot if the 65' revolution had these screw heads..

Thanks for the help!

The guitar includes the pickguard and bracket, so you have to drill it yourself if you want to attach it.

I think the front of the sunburst version looks nice and while I'd prefer nickel Grovers, the gold looks OK on the natural. Would be cool if Epiphone built a few for my lefty brethren.

The sunburst has a dark back & sides!! :-

That's the only thing I don't like on my MIC casino; the burst on the sides and back is just not necessary.

Paul McCartney`s 1962 Casino (serial Number 84075) also has the burst on the back and sides! quite a few of the early ones did, although like you I prefer the solid look.
