JefferySmith
The Inspired by John Lennon Casino gets a 4.5/5 with considerable accolades. The fault it for the feedback (which goes with the territory with hollowbodies). The 1959 Les Paul gets only a 4 out of 5, for not being a Gibson. Hellllooooo? It would be pretty dumb to make it to Gibson standards since then one would have to set a price = to a Gibson. Who is going to buy an Epiphone copy of a Gibson at a Gibson price. bluelake07
I haven't played one, but from seeing the specifications and the reviews here the Inspired By looks to be the best value in a Epi Casino today. Those wanting one as close as possible to Lennon's will dig a lot deeper into their pockets and get a John Lennon 1965 or Revolution, but for the majority of people looking to buy a Casino I think the IBJL is the one to get. The reviewer compared the Epi 1959 Les Paul favorably to the Elitist series and that is very good indeed. I didn't know they are only building 1,959 of them. If I was right-handed and in the market for an LP, I would want one.

It usually does. If they start rating the guitars lower because they aren't top of the line, the Fender Squier series should be a bunch of 1's and 2's. Is a Volkswagon a good Volkswagon? If so, give it a 5. Is a Volkswagon a good Bentley? Of course not, but don't lower the rating as a result of THAT comparison.
TWANG
I think they partly have to find an excuse.. because it's lower priced, etc. but I think they know we know.. sort of. I gotta read that issue. TWANG
cookieman15061
Well I just got done playing my IBL Casino (present from the wife) and it is fantastic! Action and setup- Excellent Electronics- far superior to my Std. Casino Tone- Awesome growl Workmanship- I have to say much better than I expected and I love the satin neck finish. Well worth the price indeed.
charlie brown
Well, I was wondering how your "Christmas Morning" went, cookieman! Glad to hear the IBJL Casino is a "hit!" The one I played, in my favorite guitar shop, was excellent! Again...Congratulations! CB
JefferySmith
It's always good to hear that Epiphone is making an effort to produce BETTER guitars instead of cheaper guitars. If this model does well, perhaps they will be motivated to bring back the Sheraton in an "inspired by John Lee Hooker" model at at higher level.
