Shockwarrior
Is this a fake? Serial number EE05863111 (if its in fact a legit serial) Knobs look mounted high. Has a Zakk logo on the rear but no Zakk paint job. Pickguard looks terrible. Paint job at binding looks rough. Tuners seem worn and old don't suit a 2005 guitar. There is no close up of the headstock included which is the common way to tell a fake. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/350357039009

Plymouth581281734240
Undoubtedly a fake. What gives away that it's a fake (besides the ZW logo on the back). ?
Vic Flick
What gives away that it's a fake (besides the ZW logo on the back). ? The serial # EE05863111 EE=factory (Epiphone China) 05=2005 86=the month. What??? Last time I checked, there are only 12 months in the year.
ReneBoedker
What gives away that it's a fake (besides the ZW logo on the back). ? The pickguard screw (it's too close to the edge) The knobs do not look "parallel" (if you draw lines through them) I think the serial number is too close to the headstock edge (or is it just me?) animalfarm
Yeccchhh! To use a phrase from Monty Python - "Run AWAY!, Run AWAY!" I never knew producers of "Not Real" Epis made Factory Seconds. Wow, BAD craftmanship. Same reasons as listed previously, but look at how the tailpiece is slightly off torward the knobs - strings do not run in a straght line from top to bottom. Show up in 2 different pics, so it can't be camera angle. http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/epiphone-les-pauls/31153-fake-epiphone-thread-ii.html Might be wise to stay away. The.Traffic.Lights
Should someone with E-bay account report it perhaps?
vomer
I report obvious dealers to ebay UK if I come across them, but there are so many individuals selling on fakes I don't bother. Anyone buying off ebay really should check what they're buying- you can't rescue everyone.
