Challenge
I have recently purchased an Epiphone Zakk Wylde ZV Custom and was wondering if anyone knows if these guitars came from the factory tuned in Drop D tuning? Also, what make of strings are on these guitars from the factory? Thanks for help and advice in advance.
AS90
Why do you think they would they send it out in drop D?
Challenge
When I first went to tune it, I found the tuning was near Drop D tuning...
lamusiqa
When I first went to tune it' date=' I found the tuning was near Drop D tuning...[/quote'] Probably because it went out of tune during shipping. New guitar, new strings.. It happens, ya know?
Hungrycat
The namesake of that particular instrument happens to use that tuning...:- And the stock strings are a brand called CRAP.
Challenge
Yes, that's why I was asking...did the guitars come out of the factory deliberately in Drop D tuning as that's the way Zakk likes it set up? Or did it just go out of tune and happened to be very near Drop D tuning? Sorry about the question, was just curious and see if anyone knew. Thanks so far for all the repsonses. Somebody probably dropped D guitar on the ground too hard and it went out of tune. :- Guitars are usually never shipped tuned. If fact they usually loosen the strings on purpose.
