Petrosrock
After 2 hours of playing my guitar needs to be retunned, specialy in the middle strings. Does it happens to everyone or it's something I have to worry about? Thanks.
brad1
Nothing abnormal about that. If you bend strings a lot it can happen a lot faster than that. Usually the middle strings are the ones you bend most. So that's why they often go out of tune more. And if the stings are new, they need time to stretch, and so go out of tune easily. Gordy01
Yep. Re-tune after 2-3 songs almost all the time.
Notes_Norton
Guitars don't stay in tune. It's just a fact of life. There are some things you can do (please forgive me if you know these already) 1) Tune up to pitch. If the string is sharp, tune it down until it is slightly flat and then bring it up to pitch. 2) When you change strings, rub the graphite (lead) from a number 2 pencil in the grooves of the nut. 3) If your guitar has a "String Tree" (Strat), put some original formula chap stick under the tree when you restring your guitar (a Kramer tech told me that one). Also, tune up your guitar every time you pick it up to play it. Temperature changes also affect tuning. You want to train your ears to hear what the guitar sounds like when it is in tune.
