Shnate McDuanus
With his awesome first band, Taste: I really do sh*t my pants over his music. He was so incredible.
Artie Owl
I only have one of his albums but when I bought it I listened to it over and over in the car. It's the self titled album and I love every song on it. I tried to learn to play "For the Last Time" but it's out of my league at the moment. My top recommendations are Irish Tour, Stage-Struck, Photo-Finish and Tattoo...but actually I recommend all of them. :)

NeoConMan
Good stuff. In watching a variety of clips on YouTube, I noticed his live sound changes over the years. In later years he had gone to Marshall amps, and the tone suffered a bit. When he was plugged in to old Fenders, it was heavenly... Look at the video clips for yourself, see if you can spot his amp. See if you don't agree.

NeoConMan
i thought he used Vox amps? Maybe so. I don't know how long he used which specific amp, I just made the observation on YouTube. Some of it may have been a Vox that the camera never captured. Point is, I saw very clearly he was plugged into a Marshall on some later shows. I thought his playing was just as good, songs were incredible, but the tone lost a bit.
Shnate McDuanus
Rory played a variety of different amps throughout his career. His "signature tone" was gotten mostly through cranked-to-the-top Vox AC30 amps--although he also used a V100 and a Vox Escort at certain points. I think the Escort was used in the studio. There was also a time where he plugged into a variety of Fenders (I know he had a 1956 Fender Twin and a 1961 Fender Concert Amp, both of which he used to great effect.) He had 50 Watt Marshall from the 70s which he used at times, but I'm also not particularly fond of his Marshall tone. It sounds less like Rory to me. He also used a Boss OD-1 at some points, probably to boost output and drive his amps harder. He also used a few amps from an obscure company called Stramp. I don't know when he used them, or what recordings they're on, but I think they probably sounded pretty good. Gerry McAvoy--his bass player, who I think was fantastic--used Orange amps. Anyway, I'm willing to accept that Rory's not for everyone. Gary Moore's not for everyone, and that hasn't stopped Steve from loving him. I'm not one of these people who flips out when someone's tastes differ from their own--contrary to what some may think.
NeoConMan
Yeah, but Rory is a monster. Ask ANYBODY. Gary is a second-rate poser and Steve is simply in denial. Big difference. Okay, sorry. Just kidding. Couldn't resist...

WahKeen
such a shame that god took him and mr healey so early from us :( Goodness, memories! I saw Jeff Healey in the late 80's at a small club in Austin. He was sitting there playing his guitar behind his head, with his teeth, and on his lap..... The man was just a gift to watch. I was standing right in front of him too at times.... Those were the days... and
