daveinspain
I don't know why they said The Night John Lennon and The Beatles Met Elvis... Back then John was just one of the guys in the group. Don't get me wrong I recognize his genius and all that but it just seemed odd they single him out when it was a meeting of the Beatles with Elvis. Read about it here. Versatile
John was originally considered the leader from the Quarrymen days....recent 70th birthday commemorations and press have probably put the focus on his name again....

Dub-T-123
I didn't see that but I have watched an interview of Paul where he talked about meeting Elvis. He said he went in there and Elvis was just sitting there playing a bass.
cookieman15061
If you ever get the chance to watch the Beatles anthology bit about this summit it's pretty funny. The 3 remaining Beatles can't remember the same details. Everyone has it a little different, probably because of the consumption of a certain weed on the way up to visit the King. Lennon had said in an interview before he died that they jammed but the other 3 couldn't remember that. Anyway they invited Elvis to their mansion the following night but only a few of his Memphis Mafia showed up. Dissed by the King!
deepblue
Elvis was jealous of the Beatles. They had talent. All Elvis had was a look and a voice. He didnt write his own music and his career was never the same after he came back from the army.
cookieman15061
I would bet the reason to single John out is the fact that they have the 3 new Lennon acoustics they're hoping to sell.
