Danelectro 59

I like 'em - I have a Korean reissue from the late nineties in Salmon Pink.

Good fun for a cheapo guitar.

Page did indeed use an original one for slide work, more than most people realize.

The latest ones lack the stacked tone/volume knobs that I like, but I'm sure they're okay as well.

My biggest gripe is that they are made in China now - a country I boycott every chance I get.

See if a used one is available online someplace, prices can be pretty reasonable if they aren't black like Page's.

Also, check out Jerry Jones for high quality American reproductions;

. . . and don't get me started on Guitar Center . . .

Bought one last year with the stacked knobs. Really light guitar. I use it for slide and DADGAD tuning to nail that Kashmir tone.

I use it for alternative tunings since it does not seem to have an adjustable truss rod so I reckon it should be ok.

I saw Buddy Miller about a week ago playing with Robert Plant using a danelectro similar to the one above.
