If you can, dem00n, go Apple.....Check out their 'mini macs'.......Apple, like Gibson, has strict pricing policies...So, ( can't get political !!! ), the 'affordable ' Apples are their ' mini' macs.......

"...cup of pie"?

A president said it, it was a joke when he was talking to an a cabinet member.

Ironical they were eating pie at the time.

Newegg.com

Build it.

It'll mean more and if you're just needing an email/web browsing box it should be easy to build under $700.

Apevia case with 500w psu and Win7 combo deal 159.99

Intel Dualcore E6500 2.93Ghz 79.99

ASUS MOBO 74.99

Adata 2GB RAM 35.99

Lite-On DVD/CD burner 19.99

WD 500GB SATA HDD 54.99

Total: 425.94 + tax and shipping.

No monitor/KB or mouse, but you can get a mouse/KB combo at Walmart for $20.00 and a fairly good flat screen monitor for under $200.

You can always ping me if you have questions or need advice.

My 2¢ ...

Agreeing very strongly here with ChanMan, on ALL counts. It will definitely mean more if you build it. I didn't take a comprehensive look at the components he listed (although I'm sure they're great,) but my advice to you is, if you want to save money on the components, try and buy them OEM when you can. They'll be cheaper because they're distributed directly from the manufacturer without retail packaging. Usually on a site like Tiger Direct, OEM products will be listed as such.

Good luck.

Aye XDK... I basically looked for good reviews and component compatibility. One could conceivably look for better deals and free shipping to cut down on the cost, as well.

+1 on OEM drives, but I prefer retail for most things.

Call me a snob, I guess [thumbup]
