Whats a plus top and plain top guitar.?

the wood on here is what is known as "Flamed Maple" It simply looks pretty, as far as I know it effects the tone of the guitar in any way. A lot of guys dig it, and a lot of guys dig plain tops.

Jim Rosenberg stated somewhere in the 4henry forum, that Epi never used photo-flames

 

they use real veneer

 

Ah, just poking fun. The Epi LP tops I've seen look very nice.

 

I know Fender used to adorn some models with foto-flame though.

Whats a plain top, whats a plus top. I saw guitars, one was $439 and it was plain top, other was plus top and it was $549. what i s that and whats it do.

 

 

I think we're missing the obvious:

 

A plain top is $439.00

A Plus top is $549.00
