Silenced Fred
Just sayin' however you feel about Nirvana, Dave Grohl is a beast of a drummer. On the records, they had to get new drum heads about every couple of songs because he would bust em up and something maybe more people will like, great music
Windmills Optional
There's no doubt that his drumming was a critical element of Nirvana's sound. He can really pound, but somehow still swing at the same time. I love listening to him play. I got to see Them Crooked Vultures in 2009 and it was a great show. And loud. Dub-T-123
I think he's a good songwriter and singer too. My favorite Nirvana song is Marigold. I'm pretty sure that's a Dave Grohl song. I think he's pretty awesome.

I mean Jack White is probably my favorite player, but Dave Grohl is my favorite musician
Dub-T-123
Plus I'm pretty sure he uses ac30s. I can't argue with that.
Silenced Fred
Plus I'm pretty sure he uses ac30s. I can't argue with that. Used to. Now he uses Mesas. He was using the AC30s for his clean sound, but he kept cranking them up so it wouldn't be clean At least that's what I heard from interviews with him
Dub-T-123
Hmm I didn't know that. Do you know if he still records with ac30s or is it all Mesa now?
dROK83
Dave Grohl was one of the key ingredients to Nirvana's success. Regardless of what Courtney Love seems to think, Nirvana would never have been so successful had Dave not joined the band. He was to Nirvana what Danny Carey is to Tool, or Neil Peart is to Rush, not that he is as good as either of them, but he was of equal importance to the success of the band. Not sure for recording, but for live, he definitely uses all Mesa. I'll see if I can find out
69 Son
Dave Grohl is a monster drummer, songwriter and guitarist. Heard he's a super nice guy as well. Whatever he plays he seems to get a huge sound out of. AS a drummer almost Bonham-like. I'll never forget seeing Nirvana play on SNL when Dave destroyed his drum kit... Jon S.
Didn't Dave play a few shows with Tom Petty a while back? I'd love to see that...
