NGD - SG Standard 24, 50th Anniversary

Very nice SH, I noticed it's stated as a rounded neck profile - 50's style? Kind of undecided about the rosewood fingerboard but it's still an awesome SG.

It is weird, it is rounded but it tapers more than a standard SG neck. Like a Les Paul 50's neck with a bit less shoulders.

An ebony fingerboard would have been a great touch on this guitar.

I looked in the control cavity to see if this guitar had the circuit board electronics but it does not, all the controls, switch and input jack are so neatly aligned that I thought for sure it would have the new kind of pots. Nope, the controls are Gibson branded CTS. Input jack is a Switchcraft.

The caps are blue, never seen those but they have to go. I wish Gibson used good Orange drops in the USA line, they are so cheap and better than these ceramic caps.

My old 2009 Firebird V also had those blue caps. My guess is Gibson uses those when they run out of the typical orange ones.

I think they only put the PCB on SGs for a short while in 2009 unless the '61RIs never had a PCB.

I know 2009 SG Standards did but 2010s do not.

This is exaclty what you need! [biggrin]

I'm waiting on a set of pickups so I can drop this into my historic SG.
