Clayfingers
What's the neck profile like on these recent 330s? I had a 66 Casino a few years back that I loved, but it wouldn't stay in tune - I think it was the vibrato on it - so am interested in one of these babies. On my 330L (2010 model), I'd call it a slightly wide & low profile. The specs says it's the 30/60 neck.

g6120
Last weekend I had the opportunity to talked with two Gibson reps and they told me the company will be issuing a nos version of the ES 330 and the specs will be of the early 60s vintage . Thought I would mention this since your talking about the ES 330 and by the way I have one of these guitars myself the ES 330L its a sunburst . Notes_Norton
Hey Norton, glad to see you decided not to sell your ES-330, they are keepers! I'm still thinking about it, but I'll probably flip-flop for a while before I decide. I love the guitar, it's just not getting played. It seems a waste to have such a beautiful instrument sit and collect dust while the strings slowly rust. And the market is soft right now. If someone would offer me $4k for it, I'd probably let it go and buy another Parker DF for me and yet another for my duo-mate (wife). dougg330
Here's mine - 1966 ES-330 with Lindy Fralin P-90's - stock bridge, 15% underwound neck. It has a repaired headstock break, but is still one of the liveliest, most resonant thinlines I've ever heard. Everyone who plays it goes bonkers. https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/Z5EN4Zu86jzndwIBS6mORg?feat=directlink https://picasaweb.google.com/103975756810753717680/August92011?authuser=0&feat=directlink

dougg330
Hey Dougg330, Wow.... Absolutely love the color of that busrt. Don't you just love the resonant acoustic quality these guitars have. Yeah, it's purty, ain't it? A little lighter than usual sunburst, but not quite as light as the iced tea burst. I've had 4 other 330's before this and none was as resonant as this one. Something special about this one - even after the headstock repair, the new tuners, and the pickup replacement, it sounds and plays fantastic. Love the Fralin P-90s. I was lucky to find it. But, of course, I still have a jones to get one of the new 330L's like yours. I have friend who put it best: "Your next guitar is always the last one." MTaylor
Here's me playing my 1963 ES-330. My folks got it for me, used, around 1980, for about $800. I had it spiffed up by a guitar tech recently, and it sounds great. See also my article in the Spring 2010 issue of The Fretboard Journal.

Jerry-ES330
I have a 67 ES330TD Sunburst finish with the nickel plated P90's, pearl inlays on rosewood neck and trapeze tailpiece. It's just like it was when it came from the factory except for a missing pickguard I took off in the early 80's (could never find it again). I love this guitar. Had it since about 1981. I paid about $290 (no kidding) for it at a guitar shop in Marietta GA. It's in almost pristine conditon. I'll get a picture posted soon (too late now.. I'll wake my wife getting the camera). I play it late every night without plugging in. It seems to sound better with every year that goes by. It's interesting to see the prices go up and up , but I'd never consider selling it. I shine that baby up every night (Martin Polish) before I play it. The fully hollow body is perfect for an insomniac like me playing at 4:00 AM. When I plug it into my Ampeg in the afternoons, it just screams. I never seem to get bored with the tones I can get with this guitar. I have an old vintage MXR distortion plus stompbox, a POD 2.0, a Gibson e-bow and a small Crate amplifier with an external speaker line runiing to an old Ampeg V-22 (2- 12" Speaker cabinet). Can one of you tell me if the new ES330L I saw mentioned earlier has the same neck access? Mine ends at about fret 17 or 18 but it's a small price to pay for such a sweet tone. Jerry-ES330
Sorry for the delay guys. I had a family emergency. Also sorry about somehow sending 2 copies of the above reply. I'm still green to this site. I'm attaching some quick pics of my ES330 from my webcam. Not sure how it will turn out (as far as quality). I'll add some better shots from my digital camera in natural light soon. This guitar is holding up with age much better than I am. I love these ES330's too!
