EuroAussie
Uf .... and I was scared that we were going to see again his Simon & Garfunkel debacle that was here a few weeks back. Actually this sample sometime back influenced me to ge the M1a pickup ... which in the end was big disaster, cant stand the tone coming from it. Shambolic
I don't get it. It doesn't capture the J-200 sound at all and he's talking about using it for recording! I know he's a good producer but I can't agree with what he's saying at all - ok maybe it's better than a transducer for live...but recording!!! vincentw
but you know he's still going to capture good tone, regardless. Nice to see he's playing Gibsons.
struma6
Not a fan of using a magnetic pup in an acoustic. A good transducer>magnetic and mic'ing>>both.
E-minor7
I don't get it. It doesn't capture the J-200 sound at all. . . . Don't think he is out to demonstrate the J-200 in this clip (all though I'm sure he knows what it's like). Rather than the Jumbo or the pick-up, he wants to show a sound found in the mix between the 2. Btw. totally oblivious to Gibson traditionalists like most of us forumites. . . Lars68
Check out what a magnetic pickup can do when Neil Young does Love and War on Lanois' acoustic Guild. http://www.muzu.tv/gb/neilyoung/love-and-war-music-video/766988/ By the way, the song is on Young's album Le Noise, which is what he also called Lanois during the sessions :-) Lars
