But believe me, you have no problems with the CP´s.No slipping strings and no need for a bridge replacement.

Word. That's the thing I'd have to get a mastery bridge, but I also don't care for the pickups in the cp so after a pickup swap, I'd be at a thousand dollars plus a hardshell case, whereas for 1400 plus a mastery I'd have a guitar is completely love

Yes, maybe.

Here in Germany you get a Classic Player for around 800,- Euros and the AVRi´s for at least 1800,- Euros...i mean brand new...

HELLO TRYIN TO TALK ABOUT BIG MUFFS HERE

Wanna buy my Baby Thundaa? I'm trying to sell it but I have idiots trying to trade me their Boss Metal Zone pedals and 50 bucks...

I love Muff Fuzz, one of my favorites, but I think almost every variation of the Muff is better than an EHX Big Muff (unless we are talking Green Russians, cuz those are the ****)

dude, play even the swollen pickle by way huge, it kills a new ehx big muff IMO

Like Dub said, the Skreddy is amazing, and the Baby Thundaa and Eau Claire Thunder by Dwarfcraft are stellar

Thank you very much, but right now i don´t wanna play anything but my BIG Muff... [biggrin]

I've had a few different Muffs and I find the worst one to be my EHX Muff every time. I really loved it and then I played some Muffs made by better builders and the difference is night and day. I'll have to record a YouTube comparison or something when I get a chance.

I would say that my EHX Muff sucks. The quality is terrible and it sounds dull and flat. Not to mention it's absolutely useless in a band situation as it just gets lost in the mix unless I have a wah wah or eq pedal on. But I used to think it ruled haha

I'm still gonna hold onto it though cause it was my first pedal and it will be super vintage collectible some day.

I'm building a Civil War Muff. Thinkin about building a Rams Head too.

I don't think that the EHX NYC Muff sucks, its just that there are like 132798013724 better options out there, seriously, look at Muff clones that companies build, and you will be blown away.

I don't think much gear (really other than Strats and Line 6 amps and Boss pedals) suck, its just finding what works for you

Very early 70's Folk Rock. They remind me of Vanilla Fudge and The Dave Clark Five, or more recently String Cheese Incident or Dave Mathews.

They're also Higher than the Grateful Dead and Little Feat put together. Hey, does this mean Jam is Back? [thumbup]

The jam is back! you jelly? [biggrin]

One of the best things hipsters did was embrace folk music and its making a serious comeback. I love it so.

Please don't say they're like Dave matthews band though... please [crying]

This is my current favorite song by them off of the new album. I love jammy stuff even though I could never get into the grateful dead, its probably like my favorite type of music

My Muff definately sucks. Quality wise and sound wise. I could build a better sounding and more durable muff and I'm a noob. I guess the difference is I don't have to crank out hundreds of them everyday.

I'm totally not saying that if it's not boutique or expensive then it's not good. I just think EHX cuts corners and makes a lot of mediocre stuff.

Btw sorry I just reread the post where you asked me if I want to buy your Baby Thundaa. I'm pretty broke right now and I kinda already have more Muff style fuzz than I can use (blasphemy I know)

I didn't mean they were Good like Dave Mathews. When Dave opened for the Dead back in '95 (I think) it was an absolute snooze fest. But he's got that same folky jam feel, But these guys have a lot more character and way better voices!

And, yes, I'm Jelly. The most fun I ever had playing was in Jam Bands in the 90's, never made a penny but the parties were the bomb and the music was sweet! Techno Pop and Raves killed the scene, it delights me to no end that there's hope for the future [biggrin]

and to be honest, I didn't care for the Dead before I saw them and it was the scene I was into more than them. But I will say, when the Dead had a good night, it was supernatural. When they had a bad night you'd look around and ask, "Is there really 30,000 hippies dancing to this mess?"

Current EHX kinda sucks, I can't believe that Ravish sitar pedal is well over 200... wtf?

LOL bro, I doubt you would buy it, I'm trying to sell it for like 150 so I can get a Fvck overdrive. I'm hoping someone needs one, I'm just not grooving with it right now, plus I have a bunch of other fuzz to play with and to be honest, I'm not using too much fuzz right now, its all lower gain stuff. Wilco is really getting to me, I don't feel like I need 5 fuzzes right now.

Robyn is way better, this is one of those bands that like Bright Eyes, all the hipsters said "this is so good" and I said yeah, ok sure. Then I really listened to em, and its blown me away.

A lot of the stuff I'm writing, even full band stuff, is kind of like "folk music masquerading as rock music so people might actually listen to it" kinda stuff.

That's a good way to get your stuff heard. Mostly what you want to write, but a little of what they want to hear.

It seems like here are some fuzz specialists, so what do you guys think of that tone wicker muff?

IMO, I think it pretty much sucks. I'm telling you, go to someone and ask if they can build you a clone of an older muff if you aren't good with a soldering iron. It will blow your freakin mind

By the way, there should be more bands today who like and know how to jam in a live situation!

But the Fleet Foxes are great. There should be way more!

This is true. If I wanted the record, I could listen on my computer

I guess it's more like the difference between good and great than good and bad really. If you turn the tone knob up around or past about 3 o'clock then a regular muff can cut through pretty decently. But it cuts through a lot better without the mid scoop.

I see how it sounds silly that others make better Big Muffs than EHX but EHX is not what it used to be. They have apparently always had poor quality control and when you add the fact that they're mass producing the stuff and outsourcing to China, it's obvious that a small company run by a guy who actually understands what goes into making a perfect sounding Big Muff can turn out a much better product.

Current EHX is kinda like taco bell. You get full and it looks like a taco. Skreddy is like a little hole in the wall Mexican place. The tacos are made by mexicans who love tacos. They have these rad special Mexican tricks and they use quality ingredients. And woah. That hole in the wall isn't even that expensive when you look around a bit. But alas, Taco Bell sells all the tacos.
