BillyGibson
Oh, by the way, in the local store, I asked what the differences are between the Dot and the Sheraton II. He told me the Sheraton has different pick-ups than the dot.. Is this true? (In this comparison, I'm talking of a new Dot, and a new Sheraton, both china made) I use to have a Dot Deluxe and never could bond with the neck. I thought I was getting something close to a Sheraton for $200 less. I believe the pups in all of these are the same. (Alnico Classics)Regular dot is chrome. Sheraton is gold. Some one else here will know for sure and correct me if I am wrong. The Dot's neck is not bound and and doesn't feel the same as the Sheraton. Getting a 5 piece neck was important to me. So at the time, I went used to get a Korean one; because only Chinese ones were being made with the traditional scarf joint. Now apparantly, they are being made in both countries, so you have a choice of necks and even body shapes if that is important to you. But if you order one, sight unseen, you may not know which one you'll get until it shows up.

And yeah, I didn't like the neck of the dot I tried at all.. So I'll see when I try out a Sheraton, I hope it is indeed different..

Necks vary on Epi's and Gibsons. Some are thin and others are thick, even for the same model. Maybe they do that intentionally so everyone can choose what they want. RaSTuS
Guitar necks will vary from guitar to guitar, even from the same model line, built at the same factory on the same day. RaSTuS
geez Rastus, your clowns are starting to freak me out. I'm amazed so many grown men are so worried by clowns, the checkout chicks at our local supermarket wear more make-up than many of those clowns, LOL. bobouz
I'm amazed so many grown men are so worried by clowns, LOL. Okay, I gotta admit, those clowns really creep me out, too! Don't much care for clowns to begin with, but a whole row of demented examples (sorry Bozo) really cranks it up to another level. I try to get past them as fast as possible! hilm3
Is this a clown thread now? Clowns freak me out, too, since I was a kid. However, Rastus's clowns make it easy to find his posts. I've learned to see them as just a big bar of color and don't focus on the faces.

I've had to return two new MIC Epis for serious defects, although my MIC IBJL Casino and Ultra 339 are keepers. I guess the key is to try before you buy: Love your collection: guitars and amps, too! The Zepher Blues is on my bucket list for sometime in the future. Thanks for the photos!
Premanand
Hello folks 1st time posting. I absolutely love my 2015 Sheraton MIK (I think) bought through Reverb as "Excellent, used". Beware; it's superficially fine (Very good) but issues with frets, scratches, pickguard not original (not that this bothers me much but nonetheless) and tuners one of which I had to mend. Excellent is pushing it! However as I say I love it she plays like a dream rosewood 'board & lovely D neck suits my hands well. Lovely 5 piece neck with walnut strips for stability. Blues, jazz, rock, she does it all! I changed the pickups (Gibson humbuckers of some description) for Bareknuckle Mule bridge & Mississippi Queen (p90) neck. Sings like a bird. I'd recommend these guitars anyday for anyone on a limited budget who wants a semi hollow ES335 without paying £2.5k+. They do differ and it's hard to tell from photos & glowing descriptions but having done a bit of work and yes, spent a bit more money I'm well happy Cheers! Besides, if it wasn't for China, our country would be bankrupt. We ought to be nicer to them. Be nicer?Don't worry: Biden is doing that for you!
