Leddyman
This is my first post here. I appreciate all the knowledgeable people here who help with questions. Maybe you can help me with one. I have an opportunity to pick up this guitar. I don't have the serial number yet. I'm going to go look at it tomorrow. I know there are some experts here. Any idea of a year and place of manufacture? The asking price is $600.00. What do you think? Comes with the OHSC
Jon S.
Welcome to the forums!! This would have been made in the mid-late 80's in Korea. These were the years that most models had "Epiphone by Gibson" on the headstock.

Pennyman
If you don't jump on that, I will. And I'll gladly pay more than $600.
BillyGibson
Seems a little steep. Make sure it's in pristine condition. Play it through an amp and make sure the electronics check out. Make sure the bridge is in excellent shape too. I've seen others have difficulty replacing them and at great expense, because there isn't a drop in replacement for that style. The nut has been replaced. Check out if it looks like a quality job.

Whitmore Willy
Seems a little steep. Make sure it's in pristine condition. Play it through an amp and make sure the electronics check out. Make sure the bridge is in excellent shape too. I've seen others have difficulty replacing them and at great expense, because there isn't a drop in replacement for that style. All good advise. Could be the original nut: http://www.epiphonewiki.com/index.php?title=File:EbyGsheraton2.jpg (courtesy of RTH) Check out prices for a new one before deciding. Although that is a classic there is something else to consider. Even if it is in perfect condition cosmetically. Has it been in a closet for 25 years or has it been played day and night for 25 years? If I couldn't check out the condition of the frets personally before buying....I'd pass. Willy
fretter
Really beautiful guitar! If nothing else, that would make a great wall hanger. Art with strings attached so to speak.
