Hairy Dave
My J45 standard weighs in at a whopping 6 lbs. Of course I have several layers of spray can paint on it, and alot of surfing stickers i covered it in. Hi Brannon, Any chance you have pics? Or we're you just havin a laugh? Would love to do something similar to a cheaper guitar for the beach.

j45nick
99 Early J-45 4lbs 2.6oz on a postal scale That's almost exactly the same as mine. Somewhere between 4-4.4lb (1.8-2kg +/-) seems to be the typical nominal weight for a 'hog J-45 with non-rotomatic tuners and no electronics. Except for Buc's guitars, or course, which may be filled with helium.
BluesKing777
Fascinating. I know the thread was about J45 weights, but could some people measure their Gibson LGs please? My LG1 is a feather, while the LG3 is quite heavy. Highly technical, eh? I don't have any way of weighing them. BluesKing777.

BluesKing777
How many feathers is "quite heavy"? I don't know Nick, but it has given me an idea for some new Women's Bathrooms Scales! Feather on the light end perhaps, up to 'a bit heavy' on the heavy end! Perhaps in combo Pink/Leopard? Perhaps could be known as 'The Screamsaver"???? This needs more thought I know.....
