kwerty
Got my new guitar yesterday!! Just have a question regarding my wall hanger for the guitar. I have one of those Hercules wall hangers (http://www.herculesstands.com/guitars/GSP39WB.html) this won't do any harm to my guitar's finish would it? Its just that I've read posts before about stands or hangers destroying their finish?
texasdw
Is that an Analysis Plus yellow oval you got there? BTW...LOVE the ES335. Your black one looks great. As does the fingerboard. Incidentally, I THINK the Hercules stands are safe, but somebody else on the forum may be able to answer for sure. I don't leave mine out all the time, but so far no damage. cjmwrx
I've been using the Hercules wall hangers. I have had no issues with the finish on my Gibsons. Very nice ES 335. Pickguard adds a nice contrast to the black.
swampash
Awesome Guitar. :) I picked up the same Guitar in Cherry this day last week. For me, this is the best Guitar that Gibson has ever made.
Murph
What a beauty. I'd wrap some cotton around the hanger on THAT guitar just for the heck of it. My ES-339 has some damage from Hercules stands.
BigKahune
. Congrats on a beautiful 355. . B) No matter what the manufacturer says, no matter what fanboys of any particular brand say - play it safe and use a piece of cotton cloth (preferably - white, no dyes) to protect the finish of your guitar at the contact points. There have been plenty of posts on these forums detailing damage done by stands, including those that manufacturers and users claim are nitro safe. . davidl
I've had mine on Hercules wall hangers for about a year now with no issues but if it is a concern to you, wrap them up in cotton material. Beauty new guitar by the way. Dave
Ken Rayba
Nice 335! I have an Ebony one, which I purchased in 2005. They are great guitars. I replaced the volume and tone knobs with the older style chrome tops. I think it really adds to the guitar, instead of the all black speed knobs. Hope have you have good luck with it!
