zombywoof
Maybe it just has to do with getting older but I have been getting more and more into opera. Something like the aria La Mamma Morta sung by Maria Callas flippin' sends shivers down my spine.
Mojorule
Eminem is one of the few contemporary lyricists worth listening to. 'Thank you' by Dido is a pile of tedious shite. 'Stan' by Eminem is a work of genius without which Dido would have no career.
JohnnyReb
I wouldn't say rap is talentless, because I sure as heck can't do it. But whether it is or not it still makes me sick. It's not allowed in my house or property lol. But what really kills me is there trying to instill rap lyrics into country music. But then again I don't consider Jason Aldean to be country music. Yea I know I'm just a grumpy hillbilly stuck in the past. But I don't care :)
retrorod
I can 'enjoy' some rap...It mostly depends on the artist. I can 'enjoy' most genres of music on a 'case by case' basis....really! I am not saying that I will put my dollar on it though....
ChrisA83
Some of you might enjoy this (acoustic) track. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOiI6zIZXP8 Don't know how anyone can say this isn't talent. Most rap songs will contain more lyrics than any 'normal' song, and many have a strong message behind them.
Buc McMaster
Perhaps some of you watch the show Justified Tuesday nights on FX. The musical theme, Long Hard Times To Come, is a rap/delta blues thing by a band called Gangstagrass that is very well done. Banjo, resophonic guitar and a fiddle. Sounds freakin' excellent! Taking a perfectly good acoustic guitar track and ruining it.
