tvguit
Those are great pictures Krister! Thanks! I played one of these at my 5 star dealer during the Gibson event (and hung out with REN!). The L-00 was real sweet. I felt like it needed a few years to loosen up to become legend. Next I played the L-1 5 star Ren signed, etc. It was unlike any new guitar I had ever played. It was incredible. That extra deep body and the 12 fret neck. I am a vintage guy by would have been converted had I been standing there with 3 grand or so. Nightowl
Here's *****1003. I apologize for the miserable photo. The pickguard starting lifting soon after her arrival. I took that as a hint and relocated it to its traditional location. Sorry Ren. I love this guitar. My first Gibson and she gives me chills every time I hear that tone. 527
Here is the guitar this one is based on: http://vintagelicksguitars.com/1933-gibson-l00-2/ I'd be curious to see pictures of the inside of these to look at the bracing and bridge plate. One difference I notice is the bridge shape on the reissue, it's missing some detail in the shape and the vintage guitar bridges are covered in lacquer. Del Nilppeznaf
http://vintagelicksg...3-gibson-l00-2/ and the vintage guitar bridges are covered in lacquer. Huh ??? Anyway..that guitar sounds bleedin amazing... and the girl playing it in the first vid is pretty special too. It's one of the strangest Gibson bursts I have seen... but one of the best sounding I have heard on the interweb.. ( or maybe I was distracted by the lady )

It's one of the strangest Gibson bursts I have seen... but one of the best sounding I have heard on the interweb.. ( or maybe I was distracted by the lady ) That's how a sunburst L-00 from 1933 & early 1934 looks. The sunburst is small and barely goes outside the bridge. http://vintagelicksguitars.com/1933-gibson-l00/ http://www.folkwaymusic.com/vintage-instruments/gibson-guitars/gibson-l-00-1934-1012/ The bridges on early Gibson flat tops had lacquer on them. You can see it in a picture like this, you also see some chips in the lacquer. Now compare that to the bridge on the reissue. There is a big difference in the shape as well. Del Nilppeznaf
I think I need a holiday seeing as our last exchange 5572 your claims turned out to be tottaly wrong... then you think ah well..never mind..then someone decides to agree with ya..and brings ya topic to the top again... missing the point I know f all about 1930 Gibsons.. but...god knows Im tired of bs i think i shud say tarra x
527
Yes, they have clear lacquer on them. The back corners of the bridge are rounded, and the side edges are rounded over as well. The whole bridge is angled slightly bass to treble side. Much prettier than the new bridge. If you get a chance you should try some of the older L-00 and you will see the difference. 527
Here you go. This one is even more obvious. You can see where the lacquer is flaking off the bridge.
