Gibson Thanksgiving Parade float

Just saw that Gibson, for the first time, will have a float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade this Thursday. The centerpiece of this float--I kid you not-- is a 50' (15.24m) Les Paul guitar.

Now we know where all the rosewood for fretboards went earlier this year........

(For those of you outside the US, this is a huge holiday parade down New York's Central Park West and 6th Avenue.)

Lets hope they let that nitro finish acclimate before taking it out into the cold....... [biggrin]

What I want to know is why they chose the Les Paul rather than the J-45...... [confused]

[scared] Thumb rings on guys.....creep me out!....Call me Old-Fashioned!!!!?

Rod, now a days, how do we KNOW that's a guy with the ring? [scared][scared]

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I'm thankful I don't have to lift that LP onto the float. And I thought a regular one was too heavy for me.

It must be because of the "Macy Act".
