Epi phone reissues

Two I'd love to see are:

1) a '52 Gold Top Les Paul, with P-90's and a trapeze tailpiece. Gibson's done a reissue of them recently. I've made the suggestion to Epi Customer Service and urge all of you to do the same.

2) a '54 Les Paul Custom, with a P-90 in the bridge slot and an alnico staple pickup in the neck. What a classic!

I sent an e-mail regarding the release of a non reverse firebird. Not a reissue so slightly off topic but don't think it'll happen. The reissues are just epiphone made guitars that came out back then. What came out in 1963 that could potentially be a reissue?

Epi's anniverary isn't the 50th, so I think they're open to more ideas. They've done some great limited editions over the last 10 years.

I've made a number of suggestions to Epiphone, and most have been put into production. I'm not saying they're waiting for my emails, cheering when they arrive, and running down to the design department waving them in their hand, but if they hear from enough people, that certainly improves the odds of a model being made. Speak up if there's something you want to see. Epiphone's a cool company and pretty tuned in to player's wish lists. They're not mind readers though.

Over the years I've suggested to them: ES-175, milk white SG Custom with Maestro, P-90 LP Special, P-90 SG Special, 335 with P-90's, flame top LP Stds with black plastic parts instead of white, and a few others. They're open to a lot of ideas. I just suggested an ebony LP Std with gold hardware instead of chrome. In most cases, they already have the parts or the tooling, and it's just a different combination of things to put together. From my experience, I have to say, they're listening.

I did the same re the non reverse but they said there were no plans at that time. That was about 6 months ago. Would love this model to be made, its my favourite shape guitar alongside the 335 but is so expensive to buy the gibson.

Keep reminding them. They need to see there's a demand.

So in 2011 we had the 50th anniversary casino and in 2012 we had the Sheraton 50th anniversary. Does anyone know if there are anything else planned for 2013?

I'm still waiting for the Sorrento and the Rivoli bass to show up. I thought that was supposed to be last year unless they're going to make them 51st anniversary 1963 models perhaps.

(Oh, just checked my local dealers site and I see that the Sorrento's are due around May. Better late than never I suppose.)

Yeah! Remind them about the Sorrento. That was a neat guitar. It should be in production. P-90's have really gained in popularity since it was discontinued.

True, but the new re-issue has mini humbuckers like the '62 original. Personally I liked the idea of the previous re-issue with the dogear P90's better. They were a nice alternative to a Casino. The last of them were sold off (in the UK) for £250.00 with a fitted hard case and I still regret passing on one with the orange finish.

This is exactly the kind of thing Epiphone needs to hear. Now is a great time to come out with a dog ear Sorrento.

In that case, I'd also like to see a re-issue of the Coronet, preferably with the batwing headstock. Although I'm currently eyeing up a Hamer Special (single P90) which is pretty much going to do the same job.

Non-Reverse firebird with P90's or mini-humbuckers would be nice!

I'd also like to see the ES-355/345 as a standard production.

Epiphone dot would look much better with neck binding too!

Not just me who wants the non reverse firebird then? 3 p90's would be sweet too. Could do with e-mailing them pal. This makes 2 of us now ha.

Could someone put up the contact e-mail, I can't find it now.

Once again...requesting an accurate (in all details) 60's Riviera!! Including all

color, and tailpiece options!

Yeah, Riviera's were neat guitars!

I'm sure Epi's always looking for new ideas for limited editions and reissues. Who better to listen to than the people that'll buy them.
