A question for all the casino owners out there(and apologies if the topic has been dealt with already)..is feedback much of an issue with the casino?

I 'd like to get another electric and from what Ive seen about the casino it would fit the bill. The price is certainly better then say a gibson es,one could play a little jazz or blues, clean or crunchy or rock with some distortion...seems pretty versatile....iconic looking somewhat...I'm going to be using mostly through a vox tube 4 watt amp.....I have read about the feedback issue but have not yet had a chance(maybe 2morrow) to play one.

Appreciate all input in advance

Its all about being aware of the proximity to your amp. You shouldn't have any problems. In fact, it's something you can learn to control and have fun with. Now, if youre going to stand in front of a cranked Marshall stack, all bets are off. I think that the Casino is the best all-around guitar that Epiphone makes.

Hollowbodies are cool guitars, and great for certain types of music. Casino's are especially good, as you get a little more neck to work with, and the bodies aren't as bulky. Feedback's always a possibility with volume, but it's also something that can be controlled. I know guys who gig with them, and even seen them used at outdoor blues festivals. A guy I see playing at Florida blues festivals, J. P. Soars, plays an Epi Joe Pass. Ted Nugent used a Byrdland for many years as his main guitar, and he was playing very loud with a lot of gain. For you with jazz, blues, and some rock, a hollowbody would be nice.

The keys are where you stand with your amp (right in front, facing it is the worst), and between songs getting in the habit of either covering your strings with one hand or turning down your guitar's volume control (or using a tuner pedal in bypass mode). With solidbodies most players have sloppy habits because feedback often isn't an issue. With a full hollowbody you just have to tighten up those habits a bit. Guys do it all the time.

Try a Casino and let us know what you think. A lot of players love theirs.

just came back from trying one...1st was a natural finish epi but the strings felt kinda greasy as my fingers were black by the time I was finished..wasn't to thrilled about the feel...tried a john lennon model and have to say it was more impressive but the neck is different wood and not sure if the shape was different or not but it certainly felt nicer...both were made in china

going to keep looking and not jump on the first pretty looking one I see..gotta feel right

Love my Casino Elitist as one of my favs for sure. [thumbup] Would keep it over the Gibson SG in a heartbeat. I had an EXCELLENT MIC standard Casino. Sold it about 6 months after I bought the Elitist. Was worth EVERY DIME in price difference as a long term keeper to me for the Made in Japan quality, fit, finish & Gibson P90's

I don't rattle the windows with volume so I've never had the feedback issues.

+1. Love my Elitist as well. Check out Gary Clark Jr. on YouTube and you'll see some good examples of what the guitar is capable of.

The feedback is natural on the casino, we have to go ahead with ! When I play with may casino, I use a 6m jack cable in order to not be in the vinicity of the amp. BtW, I've also feedback with my ES175 that have a log !

I got a new Casino Elitist about 3 weeks ago...You can make it feed back at will, but it's easy enough to control if it starts on its own...just move it over a little till it stops. You can learn to play the feedback as part of your sound with a little practice, and that really adds a little trick to your bag. This is my first Casino, and I'm just sorry I waited so long to get one. They are very versatile and great players...I learn something about it every time I play it..

Enjoy!

+1. Controlled feedback can be a very neat thing.
