dougg330
I am a sick man. I need help. I went to a local guitar store (Bill's Music in Peabody, MA) recently to look at a Squier Jazzmaster. Bill was selling them for $275, and I thought I could squeeze that into the budget. I sat and played one and was very pleasantly surprised by the action and sound. But as I was playing it, I looked up and saw a blonde '66 Casino on the wall. Bill suggested I play that one, too. So I spent few minutes with the Casino, told him I'd be back on Saturday for the Jazzmaster, and went off to work. The Casino was WAY out of the budget - as in, never gonna happen. All week, the memory of the Casino tortured me. You know when the feel of a neck just seems perfect to you? And the tone sounds perfect? That happened here. Saturday came and I went in to pick up the JM. But the Casino kept making eye contact with me. So I played it again. Egged on a crowd of pickers, I went home with the Casino. It is not a museum piece. Somebody mounted humbuckers on it, and somebody else restored it to P-90 glory - although I doubt they're the originals. That same person inlaid little stars where the HB mounting screws and pickguard screws had gone. The finish is rough in spots, and it has a home-made stinger painted on the headstock - but no sign of a break. One other thing: it has an ebony board with Gibson-style block markers. And that's how I could convince myself I needed this guitar when I already own two ES-330's. That's sick, right? But, man... I am one happy sick man. Kaiser Bill
Personally I don't think you are sick at all. I'm happy you got yourself a nice guitar. Cosmetics aside...if its what you wanted...then good on ya. Well done. I hope it brings you many years of happy playing.

crust
Is that some sort of tropical fish decal on there ? It is unique with those inlays. Looks very nice.
MattH
Congrats on a very cool looking guitar. I like the "battle scars" from the previous mods. I kinda hate the term but it does add a certain "mojo" to it. You did the right thing buying the guitar even though it was out of your budget. Life is short and it's always later than you think. Enjoy. By the way, I'm in So. NH, new to the forum and am also having a ball with a new to me Casino that I got last week.

Big Norm
Nice Casino you have there ! Since I had mine, about a month ago, I did'nt touch my Strat. It's very unusual for me, because I've always used my Strat in every circumstances, since nearly 15 years or more. All other guitars I had were "backups"... now I have two number one... for now !!!
