oklatex
very weird, I am sure I have the same case, my bar has to come off, I can't move it back far enough to fit. I think you had given me the number of your case....this one is the EEMCS, or something close.....It is, I believe, a new case and not all the dealers have or know about it. Just call Gibson/Epiphone in Nashville and ask them the model number for the case for the "Epiphone Emperor Swingster Royal"...at least, that's what I did. And, as I said, the case came in yesterday. It is a smooth leather type material and has a very distinct bump when the trem bar has to fit. It has five latches, three on the front, two in the back...I just really had a rough time finding it as no one listed the case as being for this guitar. That's why I went to Gibson and asked....probably should have done that in the first place.......the important thing is that my new "baby" is now safe and sound in her case.....which is where she should be, at 6:00 am. I think I will go get some shut eye........all those years in the oilfield has my clock all screwed up....either that, or I am a vampire....;-) Jim
kidblast
Hi Jim! Thanks for the follow up. the part numbers for these things are always screwy. I was pretty sure the case I ordered was the correct case. (Emperor II Hardshell) if I examine the photos, it's identical. (bump on the top etc) where do you set your chet wire when you case yours? I can't get mine to get past 6 o'clock and at that position, it's hanging out side the case exterior. If I look at this web page (http://www.epiphone.com/News/Features/Features/Cases.aspx) it lists the the same case for bthe Swingster the Joe Pass and the ES-175 ARCHTOP COLLECTION "Worn" DOT STUDIO 940-E519 DOT 940-E519 DOT (Left-Handed) 940-E519 Ltd Ed DOT Royale 940-E519 "Tom Delonge" Signature ES-333 940-E519 WILDKAT (with Bigsby Tremolo) 940-EHLCS Ltd Ed WILDKAT Royale (with Bigsby Tremolo) 940-EHLCS ES-175 Reissue 940-EEMCS CASINO 940-E519 SHERATON II 940-E519 SHERATON II (Left-Handed) 940-E519 "Joe Pass" EMPEROR II 940-EEMCS EMPEROR SWINGSTER 940-EEMCS The Emperor II Case is what I ordered The description on the Musician Friend web site was : Epiphone Emperor Hardshell Guitar Case but the part numbers don't jive, niether does their photo - (Sweetwater has it right, and it looks like the same case I ordered from MF.) Sheesh! here's some photos to illustrate my conundrums! How do you position the chet wire when you case this bad boy? If I leave it in any position where it's not extending out side the case exterior the lid pushes down on the bar, maybe that's the way it should be??? not sure about that.. so I just take the extra few seconds, and remove it... Not a big deal, but not ideal either. I wonder if at the end of the day, I just got the wrong case, but it seems that's not likely given the part numbers listed do indicate you'd want same case for both the JP and the Swingster (And es-175) /Ray
Bluemans335
Yes, today, I found that out. The case arrived today and to be honest, it is one of the nicest cases I have ever seen/owned. I don't know how the faux leather will hold up; but, out of the box, it is outstanding!! +1. I really like the new Epi cases too. Very classy. Hi Kidblast, Thanks again for your participation and involvement in this topic. Regarding your previous post, I checked on the case fit issue for the Swingster related to the wire handle. It appears that the best position for the arm is about 3 o'clock. Below is an image of the Swingster in our #940-EEMCS hard case. I hope this helps. Thanks, Epiphone

I've tried this positioning here already, and I concur, you can close the lid - however the lid will push down on the bar when you close the case. to be on the safe side, at the end of the day I think it seems removing the bar is the best bet. thanks again!! CharlesDoughty
I'm still looking for the right case for the Epi Emperor Swingster. After following this thread I am not convinced with the case fitting. There shouldn't be any tension on the tremelo when the case is closed. I'm sure that Epi has sold a ton of these guitars. What other cases are people using? Chuck D. www.facebook.com/thegethotband
kidblast
Hi Chuck, 940-EEMCS is what you're looking for. I have one of these guitars with that case no issues what so ever, the lid does not push down on the bar as I first suspected, the case by now would show wear at that spot, but it doesn't. Once the bisgby arm is positioned as shown it's all good..
