Does anyone know if Gibson still makes the J200 with spruce top and Koa back and sides?

Welcome.

Sorry, I don't know.

You could call Gibson C/S and ask - 1-800-4GIBSON (1-800-444-2766) . . . . . service@gibson.com

Not as a 'standard' production item.

But they will make it for you, if you ask.

I've got a J-200 Elite in koa, a Custom Order, and it's great.

One thing I would suggest you consider, if you do place an order for a J-200 with koa back and sides: a mahogany neck, rather than the maple neck. Aesthetically, IMO, the maple looks a bit wonky next to the koa, while mahogany blends much better visually.

Boy I'd love to see THAT one!

I suppose any dimensionally stable hardwood could be used for a neck, although weight (density) would be a factor, so why not koa. Cool!

That's a beauty, but I think it should have gotten a mahogany neck instead of maple. Would have matched better.
