  1. No soul - like Taylor acoustics. They all sound the same to me.
  2. I tried picking one of those up once. Literally!
  3. In my late 20s I developed herniated discs in my lumbar spine. Sciatica was so bad I was suicidal. I could not sit for any length of time because the intense pain almost blacked me out. I wasn't going to do the surgery because I had friends who did and it failed - made things much worse. As a last resort I went to a little old Korean doctor for acupuncture. His office smelled like a mixture of incense, fish and Ben-Gay. I went every day for two weeks. He cured me. No problems again for 30 years. Fast forward to now - I'm entering my late 60s and the sciatica is back albeit not as intense as it was back when it first hit me. I deal with it by stretching. That seems to take care of it, for now. I refuse to take NSAIDs. That crap gave my wife stomach cancer. Now I'm getting the pain down my arms into my hands so I guess I have some disc issues in my thoracic or cervical spine as well. Like Digger, I find that a CBD gummie will also help a bit.
  4. Hell at MY skill level I have no business buying ANY name-brand instrument! But like you, I was lusting for a 335. Found this one on Reverb. Looks a lot like SteveFord's
  5. Thank you also! Your 335 looks sorta like mine.
  6. Thanks! Nice LPC there - never seen one with P90's.
  7. I actually called Sweetwater where I got it and they said they could take the guitar back in exchange for another one. Like I'm sending it back because of the nut. I was trying to tell them that their "inspection" missed this and why it was a bad nut job. The guy didn't understand my point. I did send an email to Gibson just to let them know my opinion of their QC but of course never heard back from them. Anyway, I didn't mean to hijack the OPs thread here! Sorry about that. 😊
  8. Crazy ain't it? It's as if they used a dull chisel. The stones of Machu Picchu are cut cleaner!
  9. I had the same issue on my LP Standard. The saddle was already maxed out and reversed - there was nowhere to go. So I got a Nashville bridge and that solved it. They are a tad wider than a standard ABR-1 so there was enough room to intonate. I also put a bone nut on it since the factory nut looked like it was chopped out by an apprentice on his first day. New bridge: Stock nut - looks like an apprentice cut the slots with a dull butter knife: New bone nut:
  10. Here from the great Middle of Nowhere USA. Currently own 2 Gibsons - a 2018 Memphis 335 in Figured Natural finish and a 2019 Les Paul Standard 50's. I like them both. They are probably the best Gibsons I've ever owned and I've had plenty of them. I couldn't see spending the (way) extra cash on any Custom Shop or Murphy Lab guitars. These two are just fine for me. I don't gig or anything so it's just me in my garage. Ten Pound Lester ES-335
  11. FWIW at this point in time I own a 2018 Memphis 335 Figured Natural and I like it a lot. I don't have a Nashville-built one to A/B it against but I don't know how they might be any better than this one I have. There's nothing wrong with it other than the red stain from the neck bleeding onto the binding and the back wood near the heel - which is common - I had the same issue with a '70's Cherry one I had back then. Pink binding. Actually I don't know why they bothered to stain the neck since the rest of it is natural - but that's not the point.
  12. 2018 Memphis Figured Natural
  13. My 2018 Memphis 335 has them and I truly love them. I wanted to find a set for my Les Paul until I did the Peter Green mod to the neck BB1. But in the 335 the MHS are the nuts. They were specifically designed for these guitars and I think Gibson nailed it.
  14. FWIW I love my 2018 Memphis 335 with the MHS pups. They are indeed very well suited for this guitar. I believe they were designed especially for the semi-hollow bodied guitars. There's a youtube video out there with that info.
