Last night was spaghetti & meat sauce or "gravel & worms" as I told the grandkids when they were little.
Very nice!

I lifted weights for years myself.

Which is what I started to do....until I realized I better stop....but perhaps as you are a little older your glass deserves refilling more often than mine!
Diabetes limits my drinking these days but half the time I have a drink I struggle to finish it! Sad but true!
A bit early....but that's the colonies, eh? Damned hot!
[flapper]
Yeah quite right you have to keep your fluids up down here! can't risk dehydration, can you?

Roast pork, crackling, roast parsnips with carrots and leeks, mustard gravy.
It's Friday evening so I can drink beer!
(Rule I try and stick to = only at weekends)
It's good to hold yourself to standards jdgm!
I have two drinks most nights but almost never start before 5 pm.

Nice catch there Digger. Wife's aunt wanted us to try a new Barbrque so we did. I had turkey and brisket with two sides. Baked beans and Cole Slaw.
I know that you guys love Turkey but to me it's over rated! Perhaps it's just the stuff we get here?
What sort of cuts do you BBQ (Turkey that is?)
I'd rather Chicken to be honest.
Do you make the beans yourselves?

Snappers are sea fish I think. Are they locally caught? Or is that a lake?
It looks like a nice place to live, especially if there are locally caught fish!
They are caught mainly offshore here ME but the lakes here have all manner of other varieties to catch.
The bays near Melbourne are famous for BIG snapper.
That area is one of my favourite fishing spots and that same beach holds schools of fish 7 to 8 metres off the bank....if you know where they are.
Here's a view from the boat looking back at that beach. I cast half way back to the shore for the fish, that's how close they are! Most of the time I don't start my outboard just use the trolling motor.
It would be my dream to live within 500 metres of the boat ramp and that beach. It would be nice to take Bella for a walk there early morning and chuck a few lures about. The problem is that the majority of the houses we like there are about $100k too expensive for us.
Who knows what might happen in the future though?

We have a few specialist Mexican places here, but only a few. Some of the ingredients put me off and I've never had it.
Don't know much about Middle Eastern food either.

Yesterday evening
haddock kedgeree with spinach and butterbeans :)
That sounds nice!

Gael bought me home a tandoori chicken pie and a couple of potato cakes for lunch.
Then tonight was chicken snitzel thinly cut with layered potato bake with melted cheese, peas & fresh corn.
I'm full!
Gael just presented me a big block of Cadbury chocolate and I declined, telling her to hide it from me.
I'm such a good little pumpkin~

Oh, yeah... And we took the rest home for leftovers for another meal because it was just two much to eat for two, and Grayson didn't eat much at all.
It's really a meal for 4 at our age.
I'm glad you told me that as I'm getting fat just reading how much you guys have for meals LOL
Fair Dinkum I am~

I had a "Dogs Eye" with "Dead Orse" for lunch but was still hungry so I had some of last night's left over than one of my precious home grown apples.
Tonight we are having crumbed lamb cutlets & veggies.

Waffles? I waffle a lot...look at my post count!
Tuna & pasta bake for tea last night.
Easy and tasty.

Mrs V and I run a semi permanent soup/stew pot which is replenished with whatever veg and meat come our way...
The pot veers between beef/chicken/pork and vegetarian pulses of any kind
Lots of onions and garlic....and always chilli and curry flavouring
We abhor waste
A sort of benign Sweeney Todd philosophy, if you will...
Have a Nice Day.....

Any of your neighbours disappeared lately?

Bar-B-Q! It's why there are cows....
Jeez I'm glad you mentioned that! I've been wondering why..........................?

Visiting Missouri with the wife (where she is doing her internship) and her father and brother. We went fishing. Her father caught a 7 pound catfish and I caught a 4 pound small mouth bass, We ate then (fried them) along wth Korean Kalbi, Kim Chee rice with mushrooms and sweet potato on the fire.
Another fisherman! You're my kind of people Tman. Good job.

Chicken sandwich for lunch today followed by one of my own apples rescued from the birds.

OOh you'll pay....tsk...horrid....
So you don't eat curries then?
Only ones I make myself. No Indian or Thai food for me thanks!

Saturday night:
Chicken pieces rolled in gram flour, turmeric, coriander, salt and pepper - fried, on top of basmati rice with cumin and green peas.
A favourite of mine - cooked lots and ate the lot!
Sunday:
Baked loaf of bread with oats and sampled that. Yum. Coffee.
Later - Pork steaks with leeks, carrots, mustard gravy.
Strawberries and blueberries.
I see the leeks got a run.
-
I can't hack coriander!
When I was a horrible little boy I used to pull the heads off these red & black beatles we have here and squeeze them. The guts looked like the centre of a Caremello bear and oozed out.
That smell was coriander!
No way Jose'

I fired up the wood oven yesterday and did a roast. The piece of lamb we had in the freezer was smallish so we added a rolled up piece of Pork Belly.
Roast veggies done to perfection and I have now been dubbed "King of the roast"...Grin~
Lot of work, so at 4 pm I had a nap on the couch,
Scratch tea from leftovers.

Good idea....
I used to love those Fray Bentos pies! Loadsa pastry....famous for their corned beef.
Today I skinned and chopped 1.5kg of French shallots and made shallot broth; added water, veg stock, bit of mixed herbs, garlic and let it simmer in oven for 90 mins.
Then pureed and beautiful with home-made bread.
Later a steak and kidney pie, carrots.
Banana with blueberries.
Oatcakes. Beer; still Friday night here.....
Stop! You're making me hungry!
I love things made with leeks. However they are a stupid price here and that puts me off. Your shallot broth made me think of that....grin~

We had some lovely fish last night. "Blue Grenadier" it's called here and is a deep water fish with lovely flavour.
Egg & bacon rolls for brekky 'cause it's Saturday.
