  1. Speaking of moderation...not!

It was lovely outside last night and we decided to BBQ. WE had a couple of chicken breasts so I sliced and pounded them thin, rolled them up with a piece of tasty cheese and rolled bacon around each one securing with tooth picks. We have these often and they are yummy!

To compound our badness we made up some corn fritters and I refried some left over potato slices and added cheese that had spilled out of the chicken, all soft & gooey.

It mightn’t look much but it was bloody beautiful!

  2. Just coffee this morning

Because I suffer from bouts of vertigo, I don’t have caffeine and and mostly drink decaf coffee and decaf green tea.

If you recall what it’s like some mornings when you get up and you feel fuzzy headed? I’m like that all day, whereas a cup of regular coffee clears my mind very quickly!

The other day in town we were having breakfast a a hotel and there was no decaf so I chanced half a mug of brewed coffee. OMG it was magnificent!

It was so good that I had another half a mug later. I felt fantastic that morning.

I really miss that morning zing!

  3. We have been in Melbourne with friends for the last couple of days and had some outstanding foo Thursday night. I had Nasi Goreng to die for!

Yesterday before heading home we visited my favourite hamburger joint “Grill’d” and this was the result! Yummo!

It’s an Aussie thing to have beetroot on a hamburger and I couldn’t do otherwise~

  4. We went out to a local cub last night and I had a Parma (chicken) for $15 inc. a drink which Gael had.

It was international night with a wide range of toppings and as usual I chose Mongolian. It was to die for.

This pic gives you an idea of the size of the thing, it was huge and smothered in melted cheese.

jGdbSjHl.jpg Sorry photo out of focus...didn't realise.

Salads: They seem to have turned to poo in later years and now all you get is a bowl with a few "leaves" in it and some dressing, maybe some shredded carrot and a bit of tasteless tomato if you are lucky?

If I wanted to be a rabbit I'd have long ears and a cute tail~

  5. We both had a busy day yesterday and didn't feel like cooking so we went into the Bowling Club for tea.

It was a limited menu at $12.90 but plenty of choices.

I had a hamburger which was so big I couldn't have jumped over it!

Very nice but jeez I was full!

I felt guilty with Butch doing such a marvellous job on weight reduction and his diet, but that didn't stop me from playing the chocolate machine afterwards.

I mean if you're gonna be bad, you may as well go all the way....grin~

  6. We went out to "Parma & Pot" night last night with friends. A local sporting club features crumbed chicken breasts with a choice of international toppings every Wednesday night with a free drink, for $15. I had Mongolian and it was magnificent!

Darn thing was so big it must have been Emu as I'm sure they don't grow chooks that big! With toppings it was huge!

I guess I know what we're doing next Wednesday!

  7. Grabbed a sandwich for lunch at Cairns airport and I couldn't eat it , it was so bad, so I finished off a packet of M&M's I had in my backpack and ate an apple.

At the train station n Melbourne we grabbed a hamburger & chips before getting our train. It was at a place called Grill'd and was bloody nice! half the price of a hamburger in Cairns too. The food was typically $34 to $40 for a main!

  8. Chicken strips and salad for lunch

    Pizza for supper

Been eating all sorts of stuff these last few days but still no Croc!

Maybe Saturday as we are going past a Croc farm?

Lunch today was a pie & chips @ $15 at the RSL. Was nice but crust was a bit hard, been in the warmer a bit too long.

However other restaurant options on the waterfront of Cairns could have cost us $60 or $70 for lunch......we weren't that hungry!

There was a gelati bar nearby so we had one of those for dessert. I had Cherry Ripe of course....yum!

    F& C for tea?
