Home made pizzas and they were yummy!
Too darn hot to eat outside though and we are in our final days of daylight savings so opportunities dwindling.

Spuds are great! My favourite food....I must have Irish blood?
Sitting outside preheating tha BBQ and looking over our lovely property....it ain't real bad. I sliced chicken breast thinly and crumbed it, potaoes and corn on the cob all ready to cook.
Time for a beer! Ultra low alcohol of course.

Another BBQ last night as it was perfect outside, almost too warm but great to be cooking outside again.
No big deal just lamb chips and sausages with potatoes cooked in the BBQ and corn on the cob. A nice easy meal with a drink and some blues playing!
-
Tonight we had dinner at the Bowls Club in town. I had chicken breast with mustard sauce! Here you have buffets of hot veggies and salads and can help yourself. My chicken breast disappeared under a pile of lovely salads. The egg salad was to die for!
Great chefs!

It was such a lovely night last night that we ditched out meal plans and had a simple BBQ (for a change). Opting for sausages, eggs & chips with a couple of bits of nice bread toasted on the grill.
Simply yummy!

The wind was too cold outside to BBQ last night so we did sate' chicken skewers and rice last night.

Well it's not the steaming hot desert that will kill you with all the man eating animals I thought it was before I met you, that's for certain. Lol. Actually Australia looks beautiful and a very nice place to visit and tour. Wish Deb and I could afford to go there some year. We almost went to Israel way back with our church group, then they had some fighting near Jerusalem with rocket explosions and a be heading I thought so it got canceled.
Our coasts are beautiful mate.

This is on the Epi Forum but I thought I'd pop it here just in case any of you here are interested.
Sundays I usually don't work!
It was raining on and off too but I was bored stupid and wanted to go somewhere, so we did!
Gael's sister Roz had told us about a great cafe at Lakes Entrance so we thought we's take the 35 minute drive down and try it out.
The weather had cleared by the time we got there and the sun was out and it looked lovely sitting opposite the North Arm. It was after 1pm when we got there and the cafe was relatively quiet by then.
It is named "The Boat Shed" and for such a massive boating area that name is entirely appropriate.
Initially when white man came to this area in 1840 there was an intermittent opening to the ocean, the vast lakes system being predominantly fresh water. In the late 1800's a permanent artificial opening was created giving port facilities to a coastline with no refuge for 100's of kilometres. It didn't take long for a fishing fleet to establish and that is now the biggest fleet in Australia. The Gippsland lakes are mostly salt water now and the lake system is the biggest salt system in Australia. This is all in my backyard!
We sat outside first but when the sun was out it was impossible to sit there, it was just too hot so we came inside. The inside was small and unassuming with aquatic decor scattered around, the owners were middle age women, might I add, very capable middle aged women!
I ordered a caramel milkshake and a focaccia. The fillings were chicken, bacon, spinach and mature tasty cheese. There was an aioli to die for. The focacia was perfect! Not too thick & chewy and the fillings were delicious! My milk shake was gorgeous. It was a perfect Sunday lunch by the water!
It was such a nice day by then we moved the car to Bullock Island opposite the entrance and sat and read, boats coming and going all the while.
We will be going back to the Boat Shed again soon I would imagine!
I feel a little bit self-indulgent sharing these stories with you all here but also get comments that they are appreciated, so I guess I'll keep putting them up for you. I suppose it gives you a bit of a window into what life in Oz is like?

Some nice fresh crumbed Gummy Shark, coleslaw and home made chips. That was followed by a bowl of freshly picked blackberries and a creamy vanilla ice cream....Yummo!

It was very good too. When Lent comes around we get to eat a lot of shrimp and other kinds of seafood. Shrimps my favorite though.
Good on you mate!
We call them prawns here,
-
Geez! Shrimp?
We were out with friends for tea last night and I had rissoles with onion gravy, chips and salad.
It was OK but not as good as SHRIMP!

I want Gold.
Jeez you deities are expensive...still you've got the market cornered I guess. It cant be cheap maintaining all those temples I suppose, and then there's third party insurance....I mean if those incense sticks catch fire at the one time there will be a hell of a stink!
I'll get back to you, I need to consult my financial planner~

You may approach Budda, bring me an offering and you will have good fortune.
The offering? Is that to be in Yen or USD?
-
BBQ'd hamburgers (home made) last night and it was a perfect evening to eat out.
Then a bowl of blackberries and ice cream....Yum!
-
I ate too much for dinner, skipped supper. My Belly is getting so big people are mistaking me for Buddha.
Can I pat your head Dear Sir?
-
Left overs for tea and a sausage in bread with onions for lunch while cooking for a sausage sizzle.....boy it was busy! (and hot)
-
Sweet & sour chicken with prawn fried rice....gosh my lady is a terrific cook!
-
the alternative is McDonalds near me and BK trumps that all the time. BK also has a laxatative effect as well, a free bonus!
Yeah I see your point, but I still feel queasy.

Well I had the US version of Hungry Jacks for dinner and it was amazing. Nothing like a messy whopper with fries and a Coke Zero to make it healthier!
No way! No time...ever again....what I had was total garbage!
-
Food on the road...yuk!
Not telling what I ate yesterday but today we stopped at a service centre by the freeway to get something to eat.
Hungry Jacks are our version of Burger King....never again!
2 of those in one lifetime would kill ya!
I need a bloody shower after all the grease dripping off that sucker. Makes KFC look healthy!

Roast chook from the supermarket, oven fries and corn on the cob. We had to take Bella to Gael's sisters place for a couple of days so we can head up to Melbourne today to visit our son Chris who had a heart attack earlier this week, and were too tired to do any fancy cooking when we got home.
I had a Nashi fresh off our tree afterwards, it was the best part...so sweet and juicy.

We had a beautiful porterhouse steak BBQ'd last night. Bought it back from Mallacoota, the small holiday spot we've just had a week at. We can't get good steak like that locally but can get it from a small butcher in a town of say 400 residents. I usually buy up and bring some home for the freezer. It just melts in your mouth!
Yummo!

Fish that Stu & I caught crumbed for tea.
Yummy!

Outback Steakhouse, owned by Americans serving American food pretending to be Aussie....cheeky buggers!
It seems to be popular with a lot of you though.
