  1. Cobia that I caught this afternoon, fresh corn, and potato salad
  2. Ooooo.... Hawaiian steel over those tight drums. Interesting sound. I'm digging it.
  3. No doubt. We've even started using one big ol condenser mic - bluegrass style. Talk about simple. We have three voices and we just harmonize around the one mic. And everyone can hear each other. Simple is best sometimes.
  4. Just home after three hours on the deck at a beach bar. These gigs are easy and fun. You have to keep it pretty chill in the first set - stick to mellow stuff. But by the end you can crank it up a bit. Used a '68 Fender Princeton that always sits perfectly with the other guys acoustic. That combo makes me happy.
  5. Fresh sea trout tacos. Caught the trout yesterday. You northerners call this weakfish for some reason.
  6. Tonight it's fish tacos. Caught some vermilion snapper today so they are as fresh as can be....
  7. Lat night it was ribeye steaks in the cast iron...
  8. Forgot to take a picture, but the wife does this thing with Brussels sprouts, blue cheese, and bacon. It's insane. Had a baked potato to go with.
  9. Colcannon is a meal in itself.. potatoes, cabbage, and cheese! Very hearty. Here are some recipes
  10. My wife was kind enough to make corned beef (which she does not love) and colcannon (which she does love). Colcannon is cabbage and potatoes together so it's like double Irish
  11. I have 4 hens too. And I'm always giving away eggs. They can lay a dozen in 3 or 4 days in the warm weather since they are young and in their prime.
  12. You're kidding me right? There are only like 6 people from Australia living in the US. Not one of our larger sources of immigrants for some reason.
  13. G'day mate... Shrimp on the Barbie.. Some of that Foster's beer that's now brewed in Texas... etc.
  14. I made this stuff called shakshuka. Basically eggs in tomato sauce with some Swiss chard. It was super good, and since we have chickens we always need new ways to eat eggs.
  15. Just in from a 3 hour gig. I should be sleeping already since I have to get up in a few hours for the day job, but you know how it is. On the bright side we tried out a drummer and bassist tonight, and they did really well. So it looks like our little trio is a proper band now. We may still do the trio thing for mellow settings but we can really blast now as well.
  16. First released track from a friend's new CD... These guys are so talented.
  17. Potato, sausage, and kale soup for a cold night...
  18. So ugly it will probably be rare and collectable in 50 years.
  19. Thanks. We used to post clips of our own playing a lot more than we do now.
