  1. Looks like Gibson was doing a lot of different things with the Songwriter. A couple similar inlays below. The one you showed has the classic bridge and the Bird Beak at the end of the fretboard Gibson Songwriter Deluxe 2004 - 2008 | Reverb Gibson Songwriter EC Custom Deluxe 2012 Natural Guitar For Sale Bigfoot-Guitars (vintageandrare.com)
  2. They do have a monthly subscription called Vintage Guitar, but the Price List book is a yearly publication, no subscription required.
  3. Here's the Vintage Guitar Price Guide Index list I previously mentioned. This is a couple years old. Not to say this is the ultimate list, it's just what they track. They state that exclude the most valuable guitars like the early D45's, LP's and Explorers and first issue Tele and Strat. All are pre 1970 How many do you have? Me? - 0
  4. If you purchase a copy of the Vintage Guitar Price Guide, they have a list of guitars that follow the market trend if you're looking strictly for investment. Otherwise, you need a lot of foresight. a crystal ball or luck to guess what the models will do. Good luck to you and your friend.
  5. Options were limited at the time because much of their tooling was put into storage while the expansion was being built. I would guess the options now would be better. I referenced the L00 12 fret body they made I think in 2017 mod with a dark burst and aged top and the the neck from the J45 12 fret they recently made.
  6. From what I estimate, the aged top adds about $1200 to the retail price. I had issues with that combination.
  7. All three Stage Deluxe were great guitars. I had hog, RW and walnut. Sound wise I preferred the RW. I moved all three because my old hands are having issues with the wide nut. The NL is RW with the deep body and the standard modern neck. Great sound and comfortable. The other L00 is a M2M. Standard depth, RW, aged top, slim taper neck. Great sound and comfortable. I’ve been down the rabbit hole chasing the sound I like from the different tone woods and have come to the conclusion that maple and RW need something extra on small bodies like a deeper depth or aged top. I’ve kissed enough frogs to know what I like.
  8. Here's 3 Stage Deluxe I had and two L00 I have.
  9. It wouldn't bother me but I may have to remove my tattoo so it doesn't bug me looking at it while I'm playing.
  10. Gibson is now selling guitars direct to the UK and EU on its website – including the Mod Collection (msn.com)
  11. I still occasionally buy new Gibson guitars and it is more difficult to get big discounts. The best route I found is the M2M program. You may have to wait a while, but the store has more freedom setting the price. Just make a slight change that would not occur much price difference. I order all my customs from Ben Scott at Bailey brothers.

  13. I had one of their upper end models for years and though it was the best. Then I started buying Martins and Gibson and did not care for the sound unplugged. Plugged in it was good. The main reason for selling it was the movement of the top/neck with the seasons which it did a lot. If I was stranded on an island, I would op for a Rainsong.
  14. I only need a couple of them so I have no problems letting a couple go.
  15. I didn't get that either. Maybe All Acoustic??
  16. I have some NOS Kalamazoo bridges but they’re a drop in saddle. They all measure fairly close to the same. 1.040" wide 6" long .270 thick .121 saddle slots 2.125 pin spacing (center to center) one of these has already been sold
  17. I have some NOS Kalamazoo bridges but they’re a drop in saddle. I’ll check the spacing when I get a chance
  18. Wouldn't last a month in your corral 🙂
  19. I've had two Fender Tele B-benders. To me, they're like 12 string guitars (I've had a few). I like them at first then they set around un-played afterwards.
  20. I've worn a couple like that in my younger days but now I can barely hold on to my pick.
  21. The specs on this say upper bout 16". I think the V is 16.5" and would not have any issues. Gibson Premium Gig Bag for Explorer, Firebird, Flying V | zZounds
  22. I placed my V backwards in a Gibson gig back and it zipped up fine width wise.
  23. Not sure about your budget, but I've had a couple custom leather bags made. One for my Tele and one for my Super 400. They'll make any shape you want. probagwebstartscom (probagg.com)
