  1. Ditto on this. I've had both models.
  2. It could use more cowbell.
  3. MF is taking orders Gibson Custom L-5 CES Hollowbody Electric Guitar Natural | Musician's Friend (musiciansfriend.com)
  4. Looks like a fake to me. I'll give you a $100 for it
  5. The Calton cases are made of multi-layered reinforced fiberglass. I have a couple of their cases. No paper like covering.
  6. I agree with everything you said. Much better. As you said, fewer words without changing the song may help. Here's what I would do with the first few verses. Before From an open window facing the park I hear the laughter of children and the song of a lark I'm sitting here waiting for you In daydreams I'm forever blue If only a miracle would light my way Through the deep void where the shadows play Into your arms of love and a brighter day After Open window, facing the park Laughter of children, song of a lark Sitting here, waiting for you In daydreams, forever blue A miracle, would light my way Through the void, where shadows play Into loving arms , a brighter day
  7. How deep are we talking? Maybe you need a baritone guitar🙂 This baritone singer only uses a parlor guitar, even though he doesn't actually play it.
  8. Now you have me looking for that issue. It popped up today on eBay. Looks like it's been around for a while. 1970s Ibanez guitar 2355 Lawsuit ES ??? (Please read description) | eBay 1970s Ibanez 2385 Lawsuit ES
  9. I could hear it with a little different phrasing of a few words, fewer vocal gaps and done in a Jim Croce style. I think it has good potential. I commend you for putting it out there. Something I could never do.
  10. I guess we need to be quicker with our response 😎
  11. If you’re set on keeping it, perhaps turn the E string in the opposite direction and keep the bend pointed down. Wouldn’t cost you anything to try it. I have ukuleles that are designed to turn the end strings opposite the inner strings. Or get locking tuners and eliminate the string bend.
  12. I'm a little surprised it went that high. Book price for Excellent condition is 20K-26K. You really can't restore these old ones, just fix them. Lord knows what it will need besides the obvious visible stuff. Probably $1500-$3000 to get it to a player grade. I have no idea what the value would be after it gets fixed.
  13. guitar got identified as a 1934 Jumbo and sold for $12,052.52 !!!!!
  14. I've bought a couple times off Etsy with no issues.
  15. Would a Kalamazoo have a truss rod? Guitar shown does.
  16. If the seller is correct on the FON #882, Spann's book lists it as a 1934 Jumbo. Here's a couple of their pictures.
  17. Taylor definitely makes some nice guitars and I think their burst rival Gibson's. I've been through a few Taylors. The last one I moved was an 818E. I've also had a 314CE, 815CE and Custom Koa T5 One thing I learned is if you buy a used one, go on their site and register it. It will not make the warranty active but will give you some privileges. I bought the one shown below used and it needed a neck reset. They sent me a shim set to take care of it free of charge. They're all bolt on necks and changing the neck angle is fairly easy if you're into that kind of stuff. Great customer service. I currently only have one, an NS72-CE. Rosewood B&S with a Cedar top. It satisfied my nylon string itch.
  18. Memories are nice. We've had a few of our little ones move on. About 18 months ago we lost our daughters dog which is the brother to ours that really hit us hard. He spent a lot of time with us and we felt he was ours. Ours is coming up on 14 and it's going to be a hard time when his time comes. Every time something like this comes up, it takes me back to one of my favorite sentimental songs -
  19. Musicians Freind list both SJ200 Studios with Advanced Response neck profile and slim body depth body design. Gibson acoustic-electric hand-crafted with Sitka spruce top and rosewood back and sides, plus Fishman Sonitone pickup. Hand-crafted with Sitka spruce and rosewood, this Gibson SJ-200 Studio is sure to please the eye and the ear. Utilizing Gibson's Advanced Response neck profile and slim body depth body design, the SJ-200 is the most comfortable Super Jumbo model Gibson has ever built, without sacrificing in tone. The SJ-200 is outfitted with a Fishman Sonitone pickup for easy plug and play anywhere.
  20. Pictures would help but with what you state, could be 1946 or 1947 Are you sure it's L-48? 21. I usually look at cases as something to use around the house and when I sell guitars. For traveling, I keep a few Calton and Hoffee cases that cover most of my guitars. Here's the Calton for the jumbo and dread 16"
