  1. You need to nudge your store. I can go on Gibson.com and buy one in stock. I saw the SJ200 was in stock, called my store, they called Gibson, I had it a week later.
  2. I ordered this one in April
  3. When I sold off my SJ200's my thinking was I liked the sound of the standard maple over the custom rosewood and koa I had so I could always get a maple if I missed it. I was starting to miss it when this model appeared. Frets seem normal to me, but I haven't really played it much. One thing I noticed is the nut width advertised at 1.725 checks 1.780". COA has serial number and Elvis SJ-200 in the small blocks.
  4. FON number puts at 1942 Size and features look like an L30 Check this website to see if it helps you narrow it down. Vintage Guitars Info - Gibson archtop vintage guitar collecting (guitarhq.com)
  5. Thanks! Nothing major. Just had a trigger finger release. I had to do the other hand last year. I wanted to get this hand fixed before my golf season starts.
  6. Nice looking guitar, congratulations! I like the look of walnut. I almost bought a J45 walnut. I did have an AJ Walnut and a Jackson Browne Walnut.
  7. It's been about 11 months since I ordered this, but it was worth the wait. I had hand surgery last week so it will be a while before I try it out.
  8. I had a ‘51 LG1. I don’t know about the top thickness. The things I did not care for was the quick decay, which many people like, and the fretboard radius being 9.75” instead of 12”. It was a nice guitar and I should had probably held on to it.
  9. My main pick from youth and most of my life. Fender Heavy 355. My later years I find I need a little help gripping the pick. My current favorite pick is an Apollo casein 2.0mm thick with a Fender Mojo Grip
  10. If there's a big discrepancy, I would check the nut. Otherwise, listen to Mr. E
  11. This is an L00 custom from last year spec'd at red spruce
  12. Similar shape-wise to a couple of my L00's
  13. Always had a lot of respect for the Ladies that supported the troops.
  14. A couple years ago I got one of the newer 1942 SJ Banner with the aged top. The unbranded tuners looked like Waverly's but were not up to that quality. Didn't hold, squeaked. The Waverly's were a drop-in. No mods.
  15. They have all the dimensions on their website so you can determine. I’ve put some of them on my Gibsons without modifications and using the same ferrules
  16. Not a fan of the aluminum edging. I’ve had a couple, still have a super jumbo size.
  17. Here's a few acoustics I have. Not sure how to tell on the nibs but to me it looks like the L5 and Super 400 do not and the rest do. 2016 Nick Lucas 2022 L00 2016 DIF 2014 L5 acoustic 1968 Super 400 acoustic
  18. Ditto on early 90's. Too many construction experiments. I've had a few from the 93-94 era and although they were nice guitars, I did not keep any of them. I think the 2005 was when things started being consistently good then when Ren left in 2012 it started to fall off culminating with the 2018 bankruptcy. When KKR (the new ownership) took over it started coming back. My personal experience over the past few years has been very positive. If she's mainly attracted to the looks, probably any 'Bird in good shape will due. I had two standards, 2007 and 2013. Both very nice. The short scale, square shoulder, mahogany back and sides gives that classic sound pretty much like a Country Western.
  19. I’ve put them on a few of mine. Great tuners
  20. I’ve owned this since it was new in 1964
  21. I just swapped out some on a L00. I used these - Golden Age Restoration Tuners for Solid Peghead Guitar with Scallop-end - StewMac They almost covered up the old holes, close enough.
  22. I have these bridges that are supposed to be NOS LG's from the 50's. If interested, PM me.
  23. Most of my relatives landed in Tennessee before dispersing. Our family tree is a telephone pole.
