  1. I have some original tuners that need a little work. These are repos on it currently.
  2. Here's mine. Have you or John ever spoke to Eldon Whitford getting his opinion on the J-45 Legend that was modeled after his guitar? Did he experience any problems with Gibson?
  3. Never get tired of seeing the originals! Keep'em coming.
  4. More than once, I've had to scramble to find a saddle that had been moved around during testing 🙂
  5. My luthier/friend has mad a couple BRW replacements for me. The first one was for a '42 LG1. The original one had been shaved, drilled, plugged and reslotted. He offer to rebuild it but I decided to just keep it for the next owner and put a new one on. Here's the new one Here's the old and new one for the '42 J45
  6. Burst-wise I like the appearance of #1 & #3. I definitely don't like #2's burst. If #3 sounds the best but has high action, that's probably the reason. Strings setting higher above the fret board and sound board usually do help the sound. If you don't have new strings for all three you could start swapping strings and saddles around to see if you find the right combination. Take strings off #3 and put them on #1, etc. Non-related, but Eric Clapton would by 10 strat's and take components and switch them around to get his sound. Related-wise, our local music store is offering to drop off three guitars to your house for three days and you buy the one you want. Sounds like fun. Good Luck!
  7. You will have to give us some kind of notice or rules to follow when the conversation should be limited to your interest. We do tend to drift off in different directions and have been known to hijack threads.
  8. I can live with those two variances and actually like them. I could do without the Custom Shop decal on back of the headstock.
  9. Once they're back up and running, I wouldn't think it would be too difficult. As Nick mentioned, they nailed it with the early Legend series. I have a J-45 Legend and preferred it over the vintage '42 I had. I also have a 1932 L00 RI which seems to be the same as a Legend without the VOS. Another good reissue was the LG2 reissue of of JT's Banner LG1. They nailed it. Beefy neck and everything looks correct. https://www.ebay.com/itm/124165305692
  10. Excellent! That move up the next fit's your vocals.
  11. It's an older case. The only tag states HISCOX CASES LITEFLITE PRO II. No model numbers.
  12. Standard classical guitar case should work. Shown in a Hiscox and fits the same in the Humi-Case
  13. I became a big fan of his when he joined the Statler Brothers about 40 years ago. I’ve seen him in concert. At 65, his voice doesn’t seem to be loosing anything. He’s one of my wife’s favorites.
  14. I had one identical to this. Y serial number with 20 fret neck. Sold it a few years ago. My luthier who is very good said he saw no signs of the neck ever being replaced. He said it was not unusual for Gibson to mix match necks and bodies within a year or two. I had the saddle slot filled and remachined to correct the intonation. Your saddle looks like a makeshift being short on length and choppy on the ends so you may want to check out the intonation. Handed down guitars are special. Take care of it, play it and treasure it.
  15. I'm no expert on them but I think it's mainly the materials and decor. Here's the specs from 2016 like the one I recently acquired. I see on the new ones they are using richlite. http://legacy.gibson.com/Products/Acoustic-Instruments/2016/Doves-in-Flight-Quilt.aspx There were different versions of the DIF like everything else. Here's a RW version from 2016 http://legacy.gibson.com/Products/Acoustic-Instruments/2016/Doves-in-Flight-Mystic-Rosewood.aspx
  16. Bb gets my vote. Guitar and voice sound better.
  17. Red label CS if this is the one. The one shown busted up looks like a standard
  18. I didn't watch the video, I just noticed the cracks lined up and the gap looks patched in the same area.
  19. What you think? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gibson-J200-Damaged-/274294924661?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=hGmaxIJXqoaxRON%2FUP3Y2oSfB9w%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc
  20. Just from my experience, I don’t think maple nor rosewood works well on small bodied guitars. That’s where I prefer mahogany.
  21. Still on a honeymoon with the DIF. Check back in a year or two .
