  1. Those embossed pickups were specifically used in 71-72. They were primarily embossed on P-90 (plastic and steel covers). Mini humbuckers and standard humbuckers all in the same time period (1971-1972)..... Then never to be seen again.
  2. It's not that random.... The Admin implemented some levers they can tell if the site has recently bad players trying to post from the same PC they were banned from under a different name. Certainly there can be glitches, and we have all seen them here. What I find strange is "bubs" prefix / suffix usernames have been tied to a specific banned member on three occasions. Mr. Brucebubs seems like a nice member, so I'm just going to leave it here for now and hope he can get it resolved on his end. Good luck
  3. If you get that message, in the top left corner is the static IP address, message me the IP address and I can tell if that IP address is associated with previously banned member. 1. You are using a computer of a previously banned member. 2. (Hope this isn't the case). You were permanently banned and re-registered with a different email and username and tried to use the PC in which you were banned from. 3. It could be a cookie issue, but not likely. A static IP address remains constant on all PC's. Those are the IP addresses that show up on every members post here.
  4. She's pretty. Now I need to take the strings off and solder it all up. It weighs 12.6 lbs. Total Cost = $1865
  5. Update. After almost two weeks it's safe to say I will be a left handed bass player. Everything is going much faster than expected and that's probably due to me practicing a minimum of 3 hours every day. It's funny how this exercise is sparking some memories when I was first learning to play guitar as a little kid. A combination of learning songs and chromatic fingering exercises has really expedited the learning process and I think knowing how to read music is helping on the mental part. Another thing that helped early on was playing the bass like a standup bass. This helped keep my perspective on the fret board as it kept me looking to the left (as one one would when playing right handed) until I was able to associate the notation with every fret. Now I'm just waiting for the "second nature" aspect to become part of the whole process. Every once and a while I still pick up the bass and want to play it right handed. lol
  6. This threads primary purpose is to show off tele build and hopefully at the end it can provide information for someone that wants to do a similar build. I don’t want this thread turn into an echo chamber for grievance. No need to apologize. And thank you for the compliment on Rocky….. that was truly a labor of love for me considering I have never painted a guitar
  7. That was pointed out to me by my wife, and the price is good but I didn’t want a chambered body and I wanted a different species of rosewood…. And I’m still saving about $500-$700. but I agree a great buy.
  8. That's sweet Sgt. I took a luthier class a few years back and it has taught me to be thrifty as an additional option when it comes to guitars.
  9. Once the guitar is in my hands I'm gonna do whatever I want with it. I'm building a George Harrison Tele Replica and that's what it's going to be. 😉
  10. The last time I gambled was in Laughlin Nevada at the Flamingo in 1994.... I was with two friends from work and I played this slot machine and dropped about $30 and hit a $25k jackpot. My pals were in astonishment. I paid for all their expenses and gave them $1000 pocket change each. Total fun time when we made it back to Mojave Lake and drank our asses off.
  11. And my lucky streak kept going when I found this bridge with the correct stampings. And purchased the period correct grooved saddles to go with it https://www.ebay.com/itm/304356443030
  12. And by sheer luck I found these tuners.... All that were available were the LH tuners and these popped up on eBay and I bought the last ones. https://www.ebay.com/itm/265564179639?ViewItem=&item=265564179639&nma=true&si=rM3wHQc%2Bl0D3kasgGyNb%2Bx%2FgsHU%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  13. These little suckers. https://reverb.com/item/30648993-fender-vintage-64-telecaster-pickup-set-099-2234-000
  14. Thanks BB!!! I can't wait either.....
  15. You sound presumptuous.... They have been selling these kits for years and are a reputable business. If it bothers you that much feel free to call them about your objections about design and licensing. End of discussion
  16. That's something from the image when you take a screen shop of a previous photo and the white dots are rom the camera
  17. Heck if I know...... What inlay thing?
  18. It's oil finished and it's from Cohnway Custom Basses and Guitars. I did check with Warmoth and they don't have any rosewood material at the moment and it could be months before they get any.
  19. So I was looking to buy a Fender GH solid rosewood tele when I can across this kit and saw the price and the quality of it and after talking to the Luthier I pulled the trigger. I was willing to pay between $4500-$5500 for the actual Fender GH model but after I added up everything the total cost and with all components it came out to $1900 and change. I was able to get the bridge that had the same PAT stampings and neck plate with actual serial number as Georges guitar. And in the process I saved myself $3000 Cant wait to get this little beast put together.
  20. uhhh.... The room is in my house so there is no changing that. And the dimensions of the room isn't changing so that means the proximity to the person on my left isn't changing. So do you have any LH practicing techniques I may find useful????? Gracias
  21. Nope. I just acquired this great 20/40th Anniversary Hofner bass guitar and it's LH, so I saw it as an opportunity. Another thing is it will free up headstock space in my music room. I can't count how many time I nearly smacked the person to the left of me with my RH bass guitar headstocks.
  22. I'll buy it if they release a relic'd version.
